When people ask me what an RDX is, it tell them it's a CRV with sound deadening. (I don't mention the V-6)
My wife says she is noticing a different type of angry driver targeting her now that she is not in a Hybrid...
Totally agreed that a RDX is a glorified CR-V with a couple of extra cylinders. Just like a 1970s 911 is a glorified VW Beetle with a couple of extra cylinders.
How 'bout a bumper sticker for your wife that says "This SUV runs on 3 cylinders"

No insult, but your wife was targeted by one kind of drivers when in hybrid and now is targeted by different kind of drivers. Hmmm... I am not sure I blame the vehicle.

Well, unless you have actually have had a hybrid, you might not understand the stigma. The guys in the monster trucks think of you as prey. Other folks just assume you will be going too slow. It is not anything she actually does. In fact, she may have a record of getting the worst mileage of any Honda hybrid driver ever. 75+ on LA freeways with the A/C on full blast will do that. She has been driving over 20k @ year for the last 30 years, so hardly the wifey driver. More like a road warrior. She even wrote a play about it called Drive!
Now I think she just feels like she is in a car that's too nice for her, that folks might think she's rich or something. I tell her that a BMW X-3 would have been worse in that regard. What it all boils down to is that folks are so
shallow thinking one's identity is somehow defined by what you drive.
My 2013 RDX replaced a 2005 TL 6MT will 98K. Now looking at a 2018/2019 MDX Advance or maybe a Pilot. Don't think I can hold off until the 4th gen MDX.
2013 RDX replaced my 02 RSX base. At the time, the rsx had 250k so it was not worth anything in trade so I kept it as a beater. 6 years later, the rsx has 307k and is still going strong.
Purchased a very low mileage CPO 2016 RDX AWD Technology to replace my wife’s 2013 Mazda CX-5 Tech which was coming off lease. Thought about buying the Mazda as it was trouble free, but I was never impressed with the ride. The RDX ride is more to our liking and the interior is far nicer, very much like the 2013 TL Tech I owned. Most important is wife loves it so happy wife = happy life!

Very nice and you should be very happy with your new acquisition. Just out of curiosity - how long was your lease on the CX-5 or is the 2013 a typo??

My bad, 2013 was a typo. The Mazda was a 2016 and the lease was 3 years. Had just under 30k miles at lease end. The RDX has 12.,400 miles and is, in my opinion, head and shoulders above the Mazda.
No worries at all - it just seemed like a long lease
I'm sure the Mrs. will enjoy her new to her RDX - I know mine does. We bought hers almost 2.5 years ago and she still loves it. It's been problem free with just normal maintenance of fluids and filters. Just replaced the tires at the end of May at just over 57K.
The car that would never die. I had over 240,000 miles on it. I was the original owner and took really great care of it. It seriously looked new even at it's age. Having paid cash for it when I bought it new, it was hard to let it go. But I have being saving for years for the next vehicle, and the RDX has been a great choice. I am glad I loved on.
2007 Mercedes E350 sedan, which I bought in 2009. I loved the car, but it cost too much to maintain. 200,000 miles, so it was time to go. Looking forward to boring reliability with my 2018 RDX Technology CPO, which I bought in September of 2019!
I had a 2010 Nissan Altima that I bought new and in 2017, it only had 38k miles. Pretty low mileage for being 7 years old. I had it paid off for 2 years and then one morning, I was sitting at a red light on my way to work when the person behind me was not paying attention and slammed into the back of me going about 45mph. Pushed me into the car in front of me and my car pushed hers out of the way and I ended up sideways in the intersection. Insurance only gave me 2.5 weeks of a rental car so I had to find a new car really quick. I wanted to upgrade to an SUV, so I went to test drive an 2017 RDX and that was it. I fell in love and didn't even test drive anything else. I went back a few days later and leased it. My lease ends next month and I love my RDX so I plan on purchasing mine
The mileage is comparable to my 2017 advance. You will enjoy it for sure! I am just curious: why do you replace your minivan with this compact SUV? I have a 06 Toyota Sienna XLE which I use for long road trip. I do feel the size is limited for us to travel in it for two person and one dog since the trunk is smaller compared to other similar size vehicles.

The minivan more or less outgrew us -- it was great for carpooling to and from school and the family road trip with the dog. Our kids are now grown and the van was just too bulky for day-to-day use. Family road trips are thing of the past these days. And our present dog tops out at 16 pounds instead of 70, so no big dog carrier is needed for canine transport. It's great to be able to open the RDX hatch in a closed garage to unload groceries, even if the cargo space is less capacious.
