2008 V6 Toyota RAV4 to 2017 RDX awd. Looking for acceleration similar to the RAV. I considerered the X3 to be a timing component time bomb and the GLC just felt cheap. I haven't been able to work myself up to get rid of the RAV yet. The RDX is for my wife who formally drove the RAV.

Wow the Mercedes GLC felt cheap? How so? I'm looking into a SUV as our next car and we gonna keep our 2016 ILX and trade in our 2011 honda civic EX. I'm looking at the MDX, RDX, 2018 X3 G20 probably the X30i not M40i. If I get the BMW, I'll probably buy one in Germany once I move there in a few years for military.
The GLC had the worst black plastic dash with? Animal print stamped in it. I didn't like the seat adjustment on the door and the tranny was one of the least smooth that we drove. I really liked the x3 but heard a lot of unfortunate things regarding the (plastic) timing chain guides on the N20 engine. The 2018 might be a better situation but I didn't want to pay a premium for a brand new BMW when I was happy with the Acura.
I came off a TLX lease and was tempted to get the somewhat redesigned 2018 TIX but I like the easier to get in and out of on the RDX; yep, that tells you I'm older.
Now if I can just figure out what kind of ski rack setup to get🤔
My wife and I bought the RDX new back in 2013. This year she wanted something different and next year I will probably get something different so we traded in my car 2011 Infiniti M56x for a 2018 Tiguan and I'm now driving her old RDX. I miss the 420hp V8 in the Infiniti and a few of the features it had but the RDX isn't bad and it's been so good to us that I may just keep it as my every daily.
Not that I'm real worried about mpg but it's funny to me that the RDX is only getting about 1mpg less than the 4cyl Tiguan even though it has 100 more horsepower and hers has an 8 speed. IMO, the RDX should stick with the V6, such a great engine.

For what its worth, I went with Thule's 45058 crossroad rack system and I like it. Works for kayaks this time of year and I expect same for ski racks. This summer driving with windows and roof open and rack in place, still got around 29mpg on a 160 mile trip, not bad. Don't get old...

Came off of a 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium AWD and moved into my first Acura, a 2014 RDX AWD Tech. The fusion was a good car with more than enough features, including auto park assist, where the car could parallel park on its own (eventually got very gimmicky and only something I'd use when showing a friend). My biggest issue, and ultimately the reason why I got rid of it was the terrible transmission. It was never smooth always very jerky regardless of slowing down or accelerating.
Anyways, always wanted an Acura, love the brand, was even looking at 2014 TL with the sh-awd, but I love the utility of the RDX. Very happy with my purchase and hope to keep it for a long time.
I had a 2007 TSX. Replaced factory stock wheels for the chrome factory 18" wheels, added rear spoiler, tinted the windows & replaced stock lights for LED's. Got kinda tricked into getting this 2016 RDX Advance. But I liked the color and that's why I allowed them to "trick" me into getting this. But the extra space was much needed. I miss my TSX but this is far more(pun intended)ADVANCED!!

My 2013 RDX replaced a 2009 RAV4 Sport! It was a world of a difference between the two vehicles. The only thing I missed about the RAV4 was the confidence of driving in snowy conditions. Not saying the RDX wasn't any better in snow, but I knew if I ended up hitting something or shredding an axle, it would be a lot cheaper to replace on my RAV4
I have the RDX near the top of my list to replace my 06 MDX going on 200k. It's going to need a new rear cat and power steering pump soon, and I'm over doing repairs. Also looking at the 3.6 Outback, Tucson Ultimate Limited and possibly the CRX Touring. The RDX and Outbook would be 2016/17 used, the CRV/Tucson new. Might throw in the Sante Fe Sport. I do like the idea of sticking to a naturally aspirated six as opposed to the Turbo 4's. Drove the RDX today, and I've driven my sister's 14. Definitely a noticeable difference over the 4's in the other cars including the CX5. I hate car shopping. Too many options. Was easier when I planned on keeping the MDX and getting a GTI for the majority of my driving.

Hello, to site. I, just 4 weeks ago... Traded in my 2000 TL for a 2017 RDX Advance. Needless to say it has been quite the learning experience! BTW I bought my TL Brand NEW... so had it for 18years. My 2017 advance had a previous owner. I truly loved my TL, but it was time for her to go
Said bye to my 2004 TL 6MT w/187k miles on it last week and picked up a 2014 RDX w/Tech w/48k miles on it. Forgot how nice it is to be in a newer vehicle.
Bought an RDX 2014 w/ tech a few months ago. Replaced my Mazda cx-7 2007 182k , pretty reliable car despite harsh treatment.
Difference in mpg Toronto-Montreal:
CX-7 : 1.5 to 2 gas refills ( speed 100-115 Kmh)
RDX : 2 notches left (speed 125-145Kmh)
We bought the 2017 RDX Advance with AWD last year to replace my wife's Subaru Outback (my son's vehicle now). It runs great and have more a car feel than our Outback and Sienna. We are going ski during the spring break. Hopefully I get chance to test its AWD in Colorado during this time. My Outback AWD is great in this case.
Just purchased a used 1015 RDX with 25,000 miles . Nice and clean AWD. Replaces my 2003 BMW 525 touring wagon, bought new and now is still in the family with 370,000 miles and still rolling. Lots of DIY,ing to keep that car going.

My new (Saturday) 2014 RDX 2wd replaces a 2012 Honda Pilot with 115,000 miles.
I loved the Pilot more when I had two kids at home and often took my father along on family trips. Now, it's just me 90 percent of the time (or three of us, as one of the kids is far away).
The fact the Pilot was too big for me was demonstrated twice when I knocked into wall while exiting the corkscrew exit of the garage I park in at work. Also, I somehow burned out the automated door locks on all four doors, replaced them and the two in front went bad a second time in the cold weather we've been having.
What the Pilot had going for it was the upgraded stereo speakers and sub-woofer system I put in, but I love the stereo on the RDX (though I might put in a bigger subwoofer if I can find a way to do it without adding an amp).
This is my first post on this forum. I bought a 2018 RDX-Tech-AWD from Peoria AZ Acura. I sold a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with 85k miles. Good vehicle...it had the 2.0 turbo 264 HP. The main reason I bought the RDX was its the last year of the V6 port injected. I think we can say goodbye to that kind of engine in the future. Every manufacture is going the small displacement GDI turbo motors in the future. The issue of carbon deposits on the intake valves was a concern for me with my hyundai(or any GDI motor). I installed a catch can which reduced the carbon deposits about 75%.. Resale on the Sante fe sport was average at best. I never trade in so it was the best I could get on the open market.
