VIN and build date

I am interested in getting the Acura RDX. I live quite far from Acura dealers. I am interested in knowing if the build date matters.

For the first dealer, the RDX I am interested has the last 6 digits of VIN as 804928 and the dealer told me that the build date is Apr 19 2018.

For the second dealer, there are 2 RDX that I am interested in and their last 6 digits of VIN are:
806103, 807113, 807114. This dealer still has not got back to me with the build date. Is correct to assume that the higher the VIN, the later the build date? Is it better to get one with the highest VIN with everything else being equal?

Thank you.

There was a time, decades ago, that build date 'might' have mattered. The saying was, never buy a car made on a Monday or a Friday before a holiday. Today's cars are built mostly by robots that don't care what day it is. Bottom line, despite different serial numbers you're looking at the same vehicle. Buy where you can negotiate the best price on an RDX with the packages you're looking for.

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking also in terms of that cars with lower VIN would have been sitting in the dealers' lot longer....

It really isn't going to make a difference which one you buy. A month or two of just sitting on a lot isn't going to hurt anything. Nor will it make sense to wait for a later numbered VIN... because the cars are all identical at the moment. It'll be awhile before any changes happen to any RDX...

the thing is, right now, I highly doubt any RDX will sit around for two months. They'll be moving like hot cakes out the front door. Get what you can. Don't stress about the build date.
