Compare your VIN# and production date
i've seen some interesting stats based on your location and build date...so i was curious as to how many CL-S's are produced at a given time period...now the most informed i am concerning your VIN# is that the last 5 digits are your particular production #...i still dunno how to find out the particular day of the week, but that's ok...and the production month is, well, the production month...so include where u're from if u didn't already list it in your sig...here goes.
VIN: 13562
Production Month: 6/00
VIN: 13562
Production Month: 6/00
hee hee, um Scooter? Does this mean all who have DOM in their sigs have to change it to "production month"?
As for the Day of manufacture, nup. I don't think thats available on the car. But if you use a grease pencil, remember the date and go to Maryville and mark one and then buy that one from the dealer,....well you get the idea.

ha!! i was just looking to see how Acura spaces out their shipments...so take u for example...your car was built in May '00, and your production is in the 9,000's...so between May and June, at least 4,000 CL's were built...i forget how many Acura was forecasting being built.
remember the Saturn commercial where the lady writes the letter with her picture, and it's taped to her car as it's being built?? i wonder if the people in the Marysville plant will make our car better if we write a nice letter to them

Hmm. Well there you go. I learned something. Btw how do you know that car number 5000 was also made between May - June? Do you remember somebody elses DOM and their vin#?
Yeah I remember that commercial. I'd send a letter and no picture as I'd have the first non-glass CL if I did.

If you have the build sheet for your car it will have the date that the car was built. Most dealers will trash it when they do the PDI. The dealer might be able to pull a report that states the day the car was built, like Ford's "Oasis Report". Wayne or Jens would know for sure.
On my TL-S the build sheet states that my car was built on 06/19-20/01, and I took delivery of it on 07/04/01

it's looking like Acura is manufacturing about 3,500 CL's a month, give or take a few hundred, based on the VIN's and month of manufacture...so let's just use 3,500 cars a month with a 20 work day month (5 days a week/4 weeks a month)...that's 175 cars a day...even if they manufacture 3,000 cars a month, that's still 150 cars a day...a DAY!!! that's a lot of cars, and considering there have been scattered problems, that's not half bad...we don't give those factory line people enough credit me thinks.
hmmmm, interesting...yeah i just had my rotors machined couple weeks ago...pads?? who knows with Rallye Acura...no actuator problems here, but im more interested in the earlier production models...Fabvsix, besides a good tranny
, any bad things u can think of?? im wondering if the real early production models had some issues b/c, well, they're the early models, and im sure some kinks had to b ironed out...feedback anyone??

Very minor things....
Cup holders, windshield fluid, um....sunroof noise (but this is bull shit, they know about this for many years !), that's all I can think of. Why don't you run a search on bullentons from Honda/Acura. This should bring you up to date ! So far, no issues what so ever, however, I don't drive the HELL out of my car ! This is why my dealership changed my rotors and pads at 30k, as they can look to see how aggressive of a driver you are, and my were Normal, but warped !
