I'm new to the forum, I've enjoyed using this site when I had a TL. I'm replacing my rear sway bar links and bushings. Does someone know the torque values for the locking nut, the flange nut on the link and the bolts on the bushings. Thanks
Here's what I did on my 2018 RDX.
I chose all stainless steel grease fitting @ 90 degrees.
Im away from home for family holiday. I can check the torque specs from the installation instructions when I come back home after the new year.
Rear sway bar. Rear Prothane bushings. ** Dont forget ur Lateral Locks on the sway bar ! I installed them on the outside. Locks not shown in this pic. Front Prothane bushing. Locks installed on inside of sway bar. Not shown in this pic. Front Moog sway bar link.
Can you provide the part number of the prothane bushes? How do you like them?
Interesting that they are greasable. I need to do the rear bushes and probably links as well as there is some clunking going on back there. I tested by opening the trunk and pushing down one side at a time and observing the suspension movement. The right side seems to show movement in the swaybar bush and i can hear a clunk and actually feel it if I put a wooden stick on the swaybar.
From the universal parts at list at the Prothane Suspension site I would think this is either the 18mm (#191161), 19mm (#191162) or the 3/4in (#191154) kit based on the stock bush inner size of 0.72in.
I used polyurethane bushings in the past, NEVER again, at first they were amazing, give it a year they will start to squeak then eventually they wear out and rattle. Poly is too hard and doesn't allow the bushing to twist like rubber does, and yes I greased them every time I did a oil change. The Moog endlinks should be fine as long as you grease them with every oil change.
