top 5 improvements needed for the 2015 RDX
In the hope Honda product planners occasionally visit this site here are the 5 wish list items things I'd like to see made available on the 2015 RDX when it comes out:
1. direct injection engine (similar to MDX)
2. ventilated front seats (available on top MDX trim level)
3. blind spot monitoring / rear cross traffic alert
4. heated steering wheel
5. 8-way power front passenger seat (vs current cheapo 4 way power seat)
Anyone else have any ideas / suggestions?

I'd hope fore headlight washers, all doors with the comfort access system, (not big but) chrome door handles, different rims to have a gap between base and technology, the touch screen thing from the mdx/rlx, and power tailgate on base model (lexus has it on base rx350).
I'm feeling greedy but there is so much lacking from the RDX. It could go for an overpriced crv. My opinions of course but just something I want to see.

I'd like to see white dRL's. My 2013 Accord has them. Why not the Acura? Also would like to see air vents in the rear passenger seats. Camera on the right exterior mirror for when switching lanes (also on accord). Lane departure warning (accord). Someone might say why not get the MDX which has these features available. I like the RDX style better. I wouldn't mind paying an extra 5k for these features, just wish they would make these an option.

I'd like to see a redesign on the rear end to make it more squared off. I think this would aid in visibility, cargo room and possibly keep the rear glass(and back-up camera) cleaner. I traded a 2002 Infiniti QX4 which had a much squarer backside in on the RDX and have had to clean the RDX rear glass more so far this winter than in 10years with the QX4. It seems I'm constantly fiddling with the rear wiper, spray cleaner etc. Plus cleaning it off when I get gas. Hardly ever had to worry about the QX4 and I'm sure it's the design. The backup camera is almost useless in the winter unless you wipe it off just about every time you get into the vehicle. Works great when it's clean but it's hardly ever clean even in warm weather when it rains. Poor design.
With the Lincoln MKC and Lexus NX coming out this year Acura should evaluate what the competition is offering in terms of features / accessories and assure that the RDX offers the same. By being at least equal to the competition will assure that the RDX is not considered a dated vehicle.
Since leased vehicles are typically for 24 or 36 months you will have a bunch of 2011's, 2012's, and some early 2013's coming back. These people may be looking for the latest and greatest in a new lease. A 2011 or 2012 vs a 2015 will be a significant different because of the redesign. What about a person with a 2013 that was leased around October of 2012 that comes back after a 24 month lease in October 2014? This person may decide they prefer to get a Lincoln MKC or Lexus NX even if they cost an extra $50 or $100 a month.
As mentioned earlier in this thread:
-all features in the Accord and CRV should be offered
-the features in the MDX, RLX, and new TLX should be offered even if at a new trim level
-features offered by Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, Mercedes, Lincoln, Buick, Chrysler, Cadillac, and BMW should be offered.
-any features in a Hyundai, Kia, Honda, Nissan, Chevy, Dodge, Honda, Toyota, or other common vehicle needs to be offered since Acura is a more premium brand.

I have a simple request - how about a mute bitton for the radio on the steering wheel.
My MX-5 has one and I do miss it so much on the RDX - its a pain having to reduce the volume manually when you cant hear some one in the car.

I rented a Dodge Caliber with a 110V outlet in the arm rest. I loved it. It was pretty handy to keep camera and laptop batteries charged. I wonder why more car makers don't do it.
The back-up camera seems to be always dirty or rain drop distorted. I don't have another vehicle with a back up camera so I don't have any reference. Does anyone have experience with other vehicles with back up camera and are they as bad. I don't even use it a lot of the time because the view is so terrible.
Just rear vents and noise free rear shocks would make me happy. I also have a 14 Accord EX-L. The only extra gadget from the Accord I miss when driving the RDX is the collision warning. Also the Accord has silent rear shocks. I found the lane departure monitor too sensitive and a nuisance so it is usually off. The blind spot monitor is OK during the day but too grainy to be useful at night.
