Spare tire donut? Size?

Just purchased a 2017 RDX base model and did not get a spare tire in the trunk. Wondering where we could purchase a donut just to put in there and what size is necessary? It'd only be used in emergencies obviously, so not necessarily looking for a full size wheel replacement.

Thanks!

Curious why you didn't get a spare.

FWD does not come with spares. AWD does.

Kind of of annoying but came across a few posts here already with the same story. $30-$40k on a car and they can't include a spare? Ridiculous. Supposedly a lot of luxury manufacturers are doing this.

Ya...a friend got an almost $50k loaded Edge Platinum and it had an inflator and a tire goo bottle, no spare. I understand what the bean counters are doing here; however, it is truly illogical.....

I ran over road debris and put a 1/4" hole in my tire. Had to get towed in...tire goop and inflator were useless...

Many manufacturers are doing this, not just 'luxury'. My daughter's Kia Rio didn't come with a spare, only the bottle of goo and a compressor.

I agree, I think it's cheap-ass thing to do. I mean at the volume they buy tires, how much can it cost them...$10? $20?

They claim it's for weight reduction to improve fuel economy. BFD...I'll eat the ,001% decline.

They also claim that most people never user their spare tire, which might have merit...I don't think I've had to use one for many years. OTOH, my daughter picked up a big nail a month after she bought the car...ruined the tire, had to have it towed because the goo couldn't seal it. What a PITA.

Ended up buying a 17X4 donut spare wheel + tire off eBay for $90

should do the trick temporarily should we ever pop a tire... ease of mind at the very least.

The sales guy where we bought our '17 found a nearly-matching RDX-size wheel on eBay. Then we could either get a cheap tire or look around for a trade-in tire. We haven't decided. We do appreciate having a smidgen of extra room under the floor but when we are on the road 150 miles from a dealer our only hopes are AAA or the Acura hotline to get a long rollback ride someplace. We haven't decided what we want to do yet. (We've had the car for five days so it's early.)

Just as a point of clarity for others: The actual tire size is probably T165 90 R 17

I think I'd try it to be sure it fit before you need & find out it doesn't fit.
