Signed The Papers Today

Well, I'm finally one of you!

I signed the papers this afternoon on a 2013 RDX with Tech Pkg in Forged Silver with ebony interior. They had the vehicle on the lot. I'll be picking her up next Sat morning.

I also purchased:
Side body moldings
Rear bumper Oblique (I have two dogs)
Splash Guards
Cargo Liner (again the two dogs)

I always buy Weather Tech floor liners for my vehicles and just ordered a set for my RDX. This week is going to be tough waiting for Sat

That would be tough...waiting a week, knowing the vehicle was already there. In my case(mid-August), the supply was being gobbled up as quickly as they arrived. I was told 5-10 days for mine to show up; but, it arrived on the third day and went from the truck to PDI. I was driving a loaner TL...never even got used to it.

Congrats...enjoy the new ride!

Forged silver & ebony as well , no Tech , don't know why they call it Forged silver because it's light blue metallic, get lots of compliments, you'll be happy.

fleuger99...Congrats my friend! That is a great color combo you selected and did well in your selection of accessories. In about 6 days from now, you will be able to understand what most of us already know about the RDX....It is an amazing vehicle for the price. Sure, some have had a few quirks but given that this is a FMC, it is to be expected. Quite franckly, I am amazed that there aren't more issues. I did buy a 2009 TSX (back in 2008) and despite having just come out, I had no issues with it either so I think Acura/Honda does a good job at thoroughly testing these vehicles before releasing them to the market.

In any event, try to not got too crazy this week waiting for your RDX and we'll be looking forward to your comments and pictures when you get it.

Enjoy and congrats once again

Hey Weather,

Thanks. I am looking forward to the vehicle. After I signed the papers yesterday they let me take one of the demo's home to take my wife for a spin and I really enjoyed the drive home and back. I took the dogs for a spin as well and all they did was sniff all over the cargo area lol!

I'll certainly snap some pics once I pick it up.

Cheers,

Craig

I have had at least 5 different instances of people asking me about the car and color in parking lots and gas stations. I have FSM as well. Have fun with your new ride!!

Congrats ... you'll love the car. We've had ours almost a month now and very happy. Our kid cried when we had to drop it off at the dealer to get the accessories added. :-)

And I love the forged steel metallic. I still debate whether we should have gone with it over Amber Brownstone.

Thanks! You did the right thing, brown cars just don't do it for me. Reminds me of the dreary 70's car colours.

I almost went with the Moonlight Silver but I've had so many silver and grey cars I couldn't have another one. I liked the white but unlike in Canada, here in the US it only comes with the tan interior which is too light with my two dogs riding in the car every day.

I'd really have liked a nice light blue. I also shopped the Volvo XC60 and they have an awesome bright blue colour I'd have gotten in a second if I'd gone with that vehicle.

Ha! Ha!, they're coming. Unfortunately my spotlessly clean RDX left the dealer delivery area yesterday and drove out into the rain. Even today its not raining but its overcast. I'll snap a few pics but will wait for a nice day to get some good ones.

The same thing happened to me and that was the single, and last time the RDX saw any rain or wet roads. I thought I would be cured of my disease by picking up the vehicle in the rain and forced to drive it home that day....the disease came back once I got it home, washed and got everything dry again. Damn car obsession disease

I'd say you have a small problem lol!
I love a clean car but that part of me goes into hibernation with winter as its an impossible battle to win around here with salt and sand on the roads constantly. I make sure to wash it in a touchless car wash at least twice a month. My interior I vacuum and wipe down weekly because of my two dogs.

In the summer I enjoy detailing and going nuts.

Yeah, me too. Sand, salt and slush makes it impossible to keep my RDX clean in the winter. I do the best I can, but far from meeting weather's approval.

If you don't know, when weather trades a car in, it is in better shape than when it left the show room.

Regards, Jim

^^^ *laughing* Thanks for the compliment Jim I hate to say it but it almost true! Quite frankly, it is not a title that I am proud to have but we all have our quirks and that is one of my biggest.

For the record, I should post pictures of my brown Hyundai Accent....Its not just brown because of its original color but because of the salt, sand and all crap they also put on the road here in Snow country! Luckily, the two "sissies" are hibernating in the garage

Can't wait for the spring.....BTW, off topic but will be curious what people think of the 2014 MDX concept....I like it!

Hey weather, you should be proud to have that title. Not many have such passion about anything.

Yes, by all means post pictures of your Accent.

I like the 2014 MDX concept. I see some 2013 RDX in the styling.

Regards, Jim

Weather - I have to say that I actually enjoy driving my RDX in the snow and rain. It handles great - I'd rather drive it than the 4Runner I had before it... At the end of the day, it is just a tool...

^^^ *gasping* I wish I had the courage to drive the RDX in the snow and rain but no can do Speaking of which, a little snow in the way here for tomorrow and bitterly cold temps for Thursday night!

I am not surprised the RDX handles well in the snow

I like the MDX concept, as hawkeye62 mentioned I see our RDX's in it.

We got 5 inches this morning here South West of Boston. RDX was great except for making turns at intersections, the front wheels coiuld not grip well. The roads were untreated at 7am and I have all season tires. I bet with some snow tires I'd not have had an issue.
