Option one, just shoot the thief who's trying to break into your car multiple times per day. Option two, don't lock the car. Really! If you don't lock it the alarm won't arm. Option three, (probably your best bet ), roll by the dealer for a fix under warranty. There's probably a weak ground someplace but with everything computerized you never know where the gremlins may lurk. The dealer has the tools needed to track down the problem. Until it's fixed you could disconnect your horn(s).

Cheers!

Exclamation

There's no one there when it goes off.
I don't want to leave it unlocked although that's my solution for now.
The car was totaled and rebuilt so I don't think the warranty is still valid.

Isn't there a fuse for the alarm? besides the horn fuse. I don't want to disconnect the horn in this LA traffic.

Checking the owner's manual there's no fuse just labeled for the security system so it's probably linked to some other component. If you eventually decide disconnecting the horn is the only solution, it's covered by fuse 18, a 10 amp in the under hood fuse box and nothing else appears to be connected to it.

Cheers!

Question Again

After two weeks of silence, it went off again yesterday. I'm going to try isolating which switch is giving the problem and bypass it.

Your 2017 RDX was totaled already?

yeah.. check the switches where there was the point of impact, chances are they are bad or the wires leading up to them are shorting out..

That information would have been useful in the Original Post

OK folks, here's the solutioin

It was almost impossible to shove a wire in the female end of the connection; it was too flimsy. I used the wire from a one-watt resistor to short the socket. Now I have an alarm when I want it, and my horn still works too. I may by the $60 latch soon and put it in.

Did you know there is a $1000 scanner that will read fault codes, like door open, or hood open. Too mu8ch for me now; maybe later.

the owner manual which you can get in PDF says
"However, the alarm goes off when a door is opened with the key, then the shift lever is moved out of (P or the hood is opened before the power mode is set to ON."
