Screw popped out of black plastic

I have a 2016 RDX. While this certainly is not a big problem, I would like to fix it, if not too difficult. This is a picture of the front wheel well. The screw goes through the white edge and then attaches to the black plastic. Somehow, the screw popped out from the black plastic and now there is a 1/4” gap. I can't simply screw it back in because I need to put some pressure on the other side of the black plastic. The problem is, I can not find access to get to the other side. I looked under the car and the only possibility that I see is to remove the two rivets (fasteners) from the mud flap and possible gain entry from there to reach up, put a little pressure on the plastic, and turn the screw 1/8” to reattach.

Does anyone know if I remove the mud flap if that will gain me entry? If not, is there any other way to gain entry without taking the bumper off (which of course I will not have done). Maybe a suction cup to pull on the plastic?

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply.

I know very little about cars. Where can I find instructions on how to remove the wheel liner? I gather that is not the "mud flap" part I mentioned in my post.

^yes, the mud flap holds the wheel liner in place.

you're gonna remove all the plastic clips and screws in the wheel liner to access the bracket that holds that one mistapped screw.
might even need to undo the bottom part of the wheel liner too. the bottom of the front lip, if that wasnt clear.

Sounds a bit complicated for me and possibly better suited for a body shop, but maybe with a little more understanding, I can make an attempt.

Starting with the mud flap, is that held on by the two plastic clips that I am seeing from underneath? If so, will those two plastic clips pop off with a screwdriver?

With the mud flap removed, you said:

About how many plastic clips and screws are in the wheel liner? Do they remove easily? Does the black wheel liner physically come off?

I do not see a bracket that holds the one mistapped screw. All I can see is the same as the picture, which is the screw came out of the black plastic wheel liner. I gather that I will see a bracket as I proceed along. Lastly, approximately how long should this take someone who knows what they are doing? This may tell me if I should attempt fixing mistapped screw or not. .

Thanks for taking the time to help me.
