Rear shock noise

My car has been trouble free for two years. Now I think I'm beginning to hear some noise from the rear passenger side while going over bumps. I suspect it may be the infamous rear shock noise which has plagued some RDXs. I will wait for some time more before taking it to the dealer. I mean I want to be able to reliably reproduce the problem when I go there .
More to come.

Just change them with KYB's, no point waiting.

Our dealer already has a pre-planned route to test rear shocks, but he really does not need it. There are certain things that are know problem areas. The last time I brought the car in to have the rear hatch struts replaced under warranty, they replaced the battery (3 years old) under warranty without me asking. The battery is becoming a known problem at the three year mark.

Thanks. I hope my dealer has a pre-planned route too, or no I will rather plan the route myself.
@ Mind analyzer , don't know what's so funny about it. It would be a warranty problem anyway.
Just a question, can I request them to put KYB shocks or they will do their own thing anyway.

They'll need to use OE parts in order to get paid by Acura for the repair - but if you really want KYB shocks - have the dealer put on the new OE shocks and everything will be "unrusted" for you to istall the KYBs.

Me? I'd have the dealer do his thing and replace with other shocks a few years down the road - assuming you have issues and still own the car.

I had booked an appointment with the service today for this issue. Now this morning I drove it over all kinds of road bumps and guess what ..... no noise. Not sure what to do now. Shall I keep the appointment and make a fool of myself?

Update: shock changed.

I decided to go to the dealer anyway. The dealer did the test drive and isolated the problem. They are changing the rear shock under warranty. Thankfully they had the part in stock. Hopefully this would be my last of the visits for a long time.
