RDX AWD Slams into DRIVE!
Damn I was hoping that was it.
I have an idea that's going to sound crazy but hear me out: try unplugging one of your wheel speed sensors and see if you still get that lurch when shifting to drive.
What this does is throw the ABS into a sort of limp mode where AWD will be disabled. I'm thinking that maybe we can isolate the source of the issue by taking the rear diff out of the equation.
If you're gonna consider replacing the trans, you wanna be sure that's it.

Installed a new Anchor Active Rear Engine Mount to replace the defective one which had a horrible buzzing noise in operation.
The car pretty much slid into drive normally - several times. It appears the rear mount was causing all the drama with the banging into gear from park.

This is a major downside of forums: people very often struggle to clearly explain their problem, while others struggle to properly understand what the issue is in order to help.
The only work I farm out is air conditioning and alignments. Even there, I align and charge the ‘68 myself! LOL
Best.
I thought you said you replaced mounts in a prior post, that's why I didn't suggest it sooner. But glad the mount resolved it.
In my case fluid pressure switch for the 4th clutch was the culprit. Finally got around to changing it.

Sparkplugs, sensors.. everything. I used to buy alot more off FleaBay. Not so much, nowadays because of the uncontrolled counterfeit trade. I find myself going to RockAuto if it is not from an OE Factory Parts Supplier.
