Purchasing the 2016 Acura RDX Base Model
Hey.. found this forum and I thought I would get some opinions on here. I am most likely purchasing the 2016 Acura RDX. I've never had an Acura, and it would be my 2nd new vehicle. Upgrading from a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I'm curious to hear peoples opinions on the new RDX. I am drawn in by the Jewel eyed headlights, and the technology that it offers, however I feel the base is significant enough of a package. Am I truly missing out by not upgrading to the tech? I've never used in vehicle navigation. I only use google maps on my iPhone, and since this has Siri eyes, where I can talk to siri for directions through my phone.. I'm not sure I would ever use it. Anyways let me hear everything you guys have to say! I'm an Acura noob but I am excited to join the "club".
Thanks!
Thanks!
First of all welcome to this awesome community. There is tons of information available if you search this forum. There are plenty of knowledgable and helpful members (who did help me out when I was in the same situation last year).
The difference between the base and tech is smaller in the 2016 version as both have LED headlights. If you are an audiophile you might want to use the excellent ELS audio in the tech. I feel that you don't care much for in car navigation, which is fine. Anyway test drive both versions and see how you feel about them. I may be missing out on some finer details and I hope other members would fill in the blanks.
Once again we thank you for placing your trust in us and we hope that we would help you in making the best decision regarding this purchase. Good luck.

I do love music and I know that is a difference there that I would be pleased with. I can't test drive both, they only have elite model for test drive... which is annoying. I sat in the base model, it was nice, but it didn't wow me as much as the Elite/Tech did. I think I'm gonna have to go with tech. Really appreciate the advice!
Thank you!! I am very excited to join

Wait, from the other thread that you started, I understand that you are in Canada and the model versions are different. So yes, go with the elite model (if that's the highest spec). You won't regret it at all.
BTW in the next few years all cars are going to come with LED lights and tech gizmos so that there won't be much differentiation between regular and premium cars at all. But, the smooth and powerful V6 engine of RDX will surely be a differentiator and you'll love it every time you step on it.
.
ps. It's not a good idea to start two threads on the same topic. May be ask moderators if they can merge them.

Yea, sorry. I didn't even know I did that, I made this one as my first post and didn't even exactly know what I was doing lol. How do I request them to be merged? Also, I was feeling pretty good about the tech, the middle model.. the Elite doesn't additionally add all that much and i'm not sure it's worth that even more additional. I LOVE the way it drove though, so i'm really excited for that!
