I have problem finding the display where you can see how many miles you can run.

I looked the manual (not very carefully) and didn't find anything about this.

Can anyone tell if the new RDX has this simple but useful function?

 

up and down arrow on the steering wheel to control the dash display

 

Yep, it's there. Just scroll through the options using the Up and Down arrow buttons on the steering wheel.
