Polishing Windshield
Polishing Windshield
I’ve been driving cars for over 50 years and have owned them about as long and never have I known of a windshield to be soft. I guess I didn’t keep my wipers clean but the passenger side has an arc of a scratch. It doesn’t clean off. Has anyone got experience with polishing a windshield?

Well, there it is, altair says it can be done, and he's done it. How it's done, that would help someone know how to do it or what type of machinery might be needed. I would start with a buffing wheel
and polishing compound with not a lot of grit in the compound..I at one time had an aluminum compound that was like 10,000 grit and tackle something like what's needed to be polished. If you have a high speed polishing wheel, that's
what I would try first with the slickest polishing compound you can find. Maybe altiar will chime in on how he made it happen.

If your area is like mine, you might find a shop around your town that polishes head lights. If you don't have the tools to do the job, I would take the ride to one of the spots mentioned and see if they can help you out with the problem your having.
