6330$ pretty good deal it was the last one left the other dealers were sold out of black on black. They told me the 2015 rdx will be coming in this month. I paid cash . But they only needed a 5000$ deposit for now. Thanks
numbers ok?
I did the numbers and ended up with $33911 ([estimating] $499 dealer fees, [estimating] 7% sales taxes and the options that you list)
PS: I am curious about the rust protection. Is it worth? I didnt even know it existed

Hi mindanalyzer , Sorry but I live in canada and the price ranges are diffrent , because in the us its cheaper than in canada about a 10k diffrence. Yes there was a 5% gst . But 39,300 was all taxes and gst unclude but I forgot to also say that I bought extended warranty, because I plan on keeping it for a long time, and all the accesories with the car came to about 42,000$ off the lot.
The rust protection was a good idea they basically spray this coating under the car and its like rubber and when you drive all the gravel and rocks that hit the bottom of the car make it less noisey so its more quiet inside when your driving.

All modern cars come with galvanized steel from the factory and have cavities filled with a wax like coating.
Aftermarket rustproofing can trap moisture and increase the risk of a panel rusting. Adding this rust protection also voids your rust through warranty.
Additionally, this rubber goo often plugs up drain holes and causes issues down the road.
Cancel the rustproofing if you can. If not, get a written statement from the dealer that it was applied properly in accordance with Acura requirements and that it will not affect your warranty. If they won't do that, then refuse delivery of the vehicle.
IIRC, the owner's manual warns against adding such rustproofing. It is a holdover from the days when cars rusted easily because they weren't properly protected from the factory.

Hi Ceb,
Thank you for your opinion and input, but I just don't get why rust protection is bad , or worthless , isn't the whole point of the rust protection, to protect the underbody of the car from rust, and reduces sound of the grit and gravel hitting up against it , I RESPECT opinion I just want a better reason.
Hi Stufan,
Did you get a better price then this?.
Where can I get aftermarket running boards, and are they easy to install?.

There are several reasons. Here are the highlights
1. If not applied at the factory, then it will trap dirt and moisture between the car and the rustproofing. That moisture will speed up rusting.
2. The rustproofing may damage the existing undercoating
3. There are several drain holes in the chassis (everything from the AC evap to the sunroof drains) that will most likely become obstructed - either when they apply the undercoating or when you drive.
4. It screws with the aerodynamics and the cooling of the car (depending on how they apply it). Do they remove the lower cladding? If so, how do they reattach it correctly as there is now this layer of black goo?
5. All of the above contribute to manucacturers refusing warranty service for certain failures - rust warranty primarily but I've heard of overheating claims being denied.
That stuff was a semi-good idea prior to the '80's.
When did you last see a car built in the last 30 years rusting apart? If you did, then it was a beater with badly repaired accident damage.
Modern cars don't rust.
Hi Ceb,
Recently talked to the salesperson that sold me the car and he said that the rust protection does not void your warranty.
I guess I'll take the rust protection, it's to late to change my mind.
I'll take pics tommorow and post them .
Thanks

Just to add my 2 cents, my '70 Skylark was under coated when it was new and the frame and undercarriage is solid and rust free. The quarter panels and fenders, not so rust free since the undercoating allowed the water to collect in those areas and rust through. Whatever happened to Rusty Jones?

Get it in writing on their letterhead. If they won't do that then refuse delivery.

In a somewhat masochistic way I like your avatar. I wonder how many posters here know what that stuff was (is?).
