One Month Report
One Month Report
Today is one month since I purchased my 2014 RDX tech pkg, so I thought I would give thoughts on what I think so far.
After 30 days I have driven 1050 miles. My satisfaction factor is probably around 90%.
Things I like the best:
Bascially the way it drives, it may be the best driving car I have had in a long time...the only car that may have driven better was my 1993 Saab CDE...a great driving car with a 2.0 turbo that I picked from the factory in Sweden.
I especially like the pickup, I thing the motor is just about right for the weight and size.
My overall gas mileage is around 22.5 in mixed driving which I think is good
I like the navigation and stereo, along with bluetooth capability with my ipod and phone
The ride is very comfortable. In fact, I drove my wife's 2007 RL the other day and it felt like a tank to drive.
I pulled my 5x8 cargo trailer about 150 miles ( weight with load about 800lbs) and had no problems with pulling or pickup.
Maybe the best thing about the car are how comfortable the front seats are, they really mole to your back and butt. Also when accelerating on to the freeway they hold you in your seat as you put a partial g on your body.
When the seats in the back are down I like the space between the back of the front seat and where the back seat folds down. There is a great space between the seats to load quite a few items.
Things I don't like:
Actually, not too much here:
I think the carpets through out the car could be better quality, they seem quite thin.
For what the car cost, I think it should have more features, such as back seat vents, lane control, blind side radar and such.
Don't like the front plate license plate situation. In CA we have a front plate requirement. I know some folks might opt not to put it on, but thats just not in my DNA not to follow the law. The dealer had to drill a hole in my front pumper in order to install the plate mount.
I wish I could tow more than 1500lbs.
Additions:
When I purchased the vehicle I added a factory top carrier and rails. I like look the way it looks, but if I had to do over I thing I would have purchased a after market carrier for my canoe. The carrier cost a $1000.
I also added a tow and hitch from the dealer and it works great, along with a tray for the back and all weather floor mats.
Finally, after two weeks of driving I went back to the dealer and purchased and extended warranty for a 125,000 miles. I guess that says I am committed to keeping the vehicle.
