I have a 2016 RDX. In November 2020, the oil was changed with Mobil 1 0W-20 as well as the oil filter. At the time, there were 47,500 miles. I have been using the vehicle very sparingly. It now has 50,650 miles. Since I have only put on 3,150, based on miles, the oil does not need to be changed. However, it has been almost 17 months. Should I have the oil changed now?

I usually change my oil every 5,000 miles or every 6 months, whichever comes first.

 

I agree with this statement from the internet:

"For those who drive only 6,000 miles or less per year, Calkins said manufacturers typically recommend changing the oil once a year. Moisture and other contaminants can build up in the oil, especially with frequent cold starts and short trips, so owners shouldn't let it go more than a year."

 

There likely no issue leaving the oil until the service reminder is triggered. I would change it once a year like sixonemale suggests. Just remember to reset the service reminder.
