Minor/major issue? Maybe

Recently got a '14 RDX W/ tech pkg. Just wondering, since its push button start and a smart type key w/o actually having a key. That being said, no sense in having a valet key since there is no key hole. My issue is, how does one lock the glove compartment since it has a key hole. I may be missing the obvious on this one.

There is a regular key inside the key fob for the glove compartment.

This. The idea is to separate the electronic section from the regular key (using the button with three bumps on it near the key ring), lock the glovebox with the regular key, and only give the electronic section to the valet.

So when the valet pillages your car, your owner's manual will be safe!

Uh, as opposed to what else?

You're giving the valet the key so they have access to the inside of the vehicle. I can't think of any vehicle with a locking center console, and it's an SUV, so there's is no trunk since you can get at the cargo space over the back seat. What else exactly are you expecting to lock?

You could lock in the glovebox an iPod, an expensive pair of sunglasses, or some other type of personal item that you want to protect but not carry with you.

Or you can park the car yourself and avoid all valet issues.

It is not so much about the car's security. If you have your house keys attached to the Acura key, you are not giving the valet those keys when you detach the glove box key.
