Hey all, new here and in the market for my next vehicle which is going to be a used RDX. Ive found a 2013 that is local to my area but has 160xxx kms on it (highway). Ive talked to the mechanic that has been seeing it since 80xxx km and he said (and according to the service records) its been very well maintained. The only thing is the timing belt and water pump need to be done (Im assuming I can probably factor that into them lowering the price for it). I test drove it and it drove really nice, was super comfy, and didn't notice any sort of unordinary noises or shakes or anything like that. Anything else i should be on the look out for at the km range ? is that too many kms ? what kind of life can i expect on the engine if i did purchase and got the belt and pump done ? should i be looking for something with less km ?
any other thoughts ? They are asking $14500 (cad). Thanks for any helpful advice !
As long as the service records show regular transmission, (and if its AWD, differential fluid, and transfer fluid changes), it sounds like a good car. It would be a good idea to change brake fluid if that hasn't been done, and struts or even front suspension parts may be worn as well at that mileage - but that varies by vehicle, and would be true for any car. There are not a lot of reported trouble spots on this generation RDX. As long as the price is right, I think you should consider it! (Looks just like my 2014, BTW).
We have a 2014, which is an identical vehicle, although it was bought in 2013 and as such it is close to the age of the vehicle you are looking at. Our 2014 has been trouble free and we had the timing belt done around 160,000 KMs. I would recommend this car. Ours have been great and problem free.I hear this particular Acura is highly rated reliability wise, unlike most of their other products these day's which is a shame because I have had so many good Honda's over the years.
