Line across the driver side mirror

Hello everybody,
My Acura RDX AWD TECH is 4 weeks old.
I just noticed there is a Vertical thin line, runs across my side mirror, (only on the driver side). Can you tell me if it is normal?

Normal. It is the seam where the end of the mirror is bent out a bit to give you a better view of your blind spot. Not many people like it. It is easy to ignore after awhile.

Yep, its a blind spot mirror for cars coming in on your side. I guess this was the solution instead of the blind spot assistance found on volvos.

With neither being particularly effective
Still have one Volvo with BLIS after having another for 3.4 years...don't miss it one bit in the RDX. I could do without the bent mirror, also; but it didn't cost hundreds of dollars

Good to know about blind spot detection systems. I hadn't really driven in vehicles enough, except for test drives, to get a good feel for it. I looked at the product put out by Goshers for an aftermarket solution but the reviews aren't good and there aren't enough dealers and installers out there yet that I was going to risk it. AND, I didn't want them hacking up my rear bumper cover.

I hate the mirror. After a while you forget about it.

When we test drove the car that was the first thing I noticed. I thought the mirror was cracked. The sales guy assured me it was a feature. It's kind of weird but I don't notice it much any more. I'd as soon have one of those little stick-on convex mirrors.

That little vertical thing on the Honda/RDX is totally useless and look like my mirror was cracked! So, I placed a small round convex mirror over it to aid with blind spot - seem to work fine for me.
