Hey guys. I recently picked up a 2017 RDX pre-certified. They are offering for approx $680, lifetime oil changes. 2 per year max, and they say it's around $70 for an oil/filter change/wash/(possibly detail).
Anyone picked this up? It sounds OK to me, but just wanted to pass it by the forum first.

I have not heard of that, but I got two years of scheduled maintenance (oil change) thrown in when I recently got my 2018 RDX CPO.

What they are doing essentially is asking you to prepay for about 5 years of changes (assuming 2/year), so you "make money" if you keep the car beyond that. You might want to make sure it is good at any Acura dealer and that it is transportable to another owner if you were to sell the car within that time frame.

As Jimbo1763 says, that's about 5 years of oil changes. It's your choice, but I would not pre-pay for five years of service. Too many things can happen in that time frame - car car crashed, dealer moves to inconvenient location, your needs may change and you trade in the vehicle. Even if the program is transferable, it is unlikely to increase the value of a sale or trade. If it's an Acura pre-certified, the first scheduled service should be free.
