Leak in the roof

Our 2013 RDX is less than a year old so I'm very disappointed that there is apparently a leak in the roof. My wife got in the car this morning to find the roof damp on the inside from the rain this morning. She checked the moonroof and windows and they were all completely closed. We brought it into the dealer today and it's still under warranty, of course, so we'll see what it is.

This is the third problem we've had after the gas lid not opening (The spring was missing) and a problem with the hands-free phone system (To be fair, that one may or may not be a problem with the phone itself and not the car).

This is my third Acura and I returned to Acura because I was unhappy with the reliability issues and excessive repair costs that came with owning a pair of BMWs so this is a bit disappointing to me, although I otherwise couldn't be happier with the car.

I had the same issue late last fall on my Highlander. The draining holes were plugged up with dirt. The sun/moon roofs are not water tight and the holes are to drain water .. I used to park with sunroof open under trees so debris accumulated without me noticing and clogged things up ...

I don't mean to sound like "that guy", but these are complex machines assembled by humans (and some robots, too), and as such they are not all going to be perfect. Like you said, it's under warranty, and frankly that's what the warranty is for.

Let them fix it, and don't lose ay sleep over it.

Ask to trade for a different RDX.

None of these minor issues are the end of the world and overall I'm still very happy with the car, but it's just a bit disappointing.

By the way, I had a similar issue with our BMW X3 (the car that the RDX replaced) where rain water accumulated in the foot wells.

Took the RDX to the NC mountains over the weekend and let my friends drive it while I rode in the back. First time in the back seat and noticed a water stain on the headliner in front of the sunroof not easily visible from front seats. The sunroof has only been open once in 15 months of ownership and the car is always garaged. Will take it to the dealer and see what they say. I hope the stain is not permanent.
