Key Fob Low Battery Notification Incorrect

2015 RDX continues to give me a notification that my key fob battery is low. Battery has been changed and I still an intermittent notification of the low battery. Any help with this?

Thanks,
Bob in Raleigh, NC

Where does the "battery is low" notification show? Is it on the fob itself or something on the dash in the RDX?

The indication is on the dash.

I’ve posted this before. I had a similar issue where the dash MID showed the FOBs battery needs replacing yet I had already replaced it. For me, I opened the FOB and reset the battery in its place. As I recall, the battery is at a slight angle when it is set into place.

Just replaced mine and the warning went away on its own. Make sure the new battery is seated correctly - put it in at a slight angle towards the back, push in, then down until it clicks into place. Don't use force.

Ironically, I just replaced the battery in my key fob for my 2016 RDX Advance. The dash alerted me with a big orange warning the fob battery was low earlier today. I was like crap! I've only had the car for 2 1/2 years. Expected the battery to last longer than that but guess not. Anyway, I wasn't sure how to replace it so did a little research. Do NOT, and I mean do NOT pry the fob back open with a screwdriver or you'll almost guaranteed to scratch it up or worse. Here is the best and super simple way to change the battery. Enjoy!

I can’t tell from the video how he uses the key insert to open the fob

Once you remove the physical key from the fob, on the opposite side from where the key goes in, there is a small depression where you can use a coin to spread about the 2 half's of the fob.

Mine lasted just over 2 years, so I put a reminder on my phone to change it every second year.
