My interior door lights (driver & passenger) do not go off after 15 minutes like the rest of the interior lights.

I've looked thru the owner's manual and there's nothing on the interior door lights.

What am I missing?

....15 minutes seems like a long time for any interior lighting to go off. Do you need that long? I am sure its in the manual and configurable through the menu options by presing the button on the steering wheel....but I am convinced its in the manual. If you can't still find it, I can go through my manual and get back to you....

I'm not sure how you're pulling off 15 minutes with any interior lights, but the pages you are looking for are on page 143 and 91. The most that you can set is 60 seconds.

I think I need to clarify. This is if have the doors open for longer than 15min. The dome lights go off after 15 min (I timed them) but the door interior lights stay on.

So; if the door lights stay on after 15 min your battery will drain.

^^ I did misunderstand I know you can turn the light switch off for the dome light but don't think you can turn the door lights off .... At least, not that I am aware

The dome lights have a "full on position" or they are timed with the doors.
The "door lights" go out only when the door is closed. So, if you held all 4 doors open forever, yes the lights would be on and the battery would drain. But, who keeps maybe one door or more open forever? When cleaning etc, yes....but, not so long that it would drain the battery.

Has anyone checked yet whether or not the rear hatch lights work the same as the front door lights? Interestingly, the hatch lights have their own physical switches, so that probably implies that they do not time out... I may check it out later tonight.

When our '06 TL was around 3 yrs old, I left the trunk open to allow a spill to dry out overnight. I found that the trunk light did not time out and the battery was dead the next day. Under warranty, our Acura dealer sent a flatbed truck, pulled the TL from our garage and replaced the battery in their service bay 25 miles away.

I am just curious...in the odd chance that someone wanted to leave the door open for an extended period of time, there must be a fuse that one could pull out that would turn off these lights no?

Yes, but, I'm sure there are other "lights or components that are tied to the same fuse....so I would check the Manual to see what's on that circuit first. There are (3) fuses that are each 7.5A....labeled: Interior lights, Small lights, and Illumination. It would take trial and error to find out which one you'd want to pull....or find a Serv. Man. and that would clarify.

Take care weather man!

My concern is if the door is left ajar by accident to is left open overnight. Other vehicles, such as Ford & GM, cut off all interior lights off after 15 min. I like to work in the garage and sometimes I leave the doors open for extended periods of time. And, yes, I've accidently left them open overnight. The Ford & GM cars start fine the next day but my Acura TL that I had would be deader than a doornail.

Maybe I better double check the operation of those door lights just to be positive. I don't have the RDX here now....will work on it tonight.

The door lights are independent of the overhead lights. They come on and go off by the door. They are not affected by the actions of the overhead lights.

Whether they "time out" like the overheads do....I don't know....but, I don't believe they do.
But, I do know they are not "tied" to the overhead lights and how they function.
