HIll Start Assist

I noticed the Canadian Acura site mentions the hill start assist (HSA) on the 2013 RDX under safety.

US site does not. Does anyone know if we get this feature here in the US?

thanks

Mine is a US RDX and it has it. When I stop going up a hill the brakes will hold the car when I take my foot off the brake and start to accelerate.

Vaguely remember reading in the owner's manual that they strongly discourage doing this -- e.g. stopping on a hill without your foot on the brake. Will see what I can find on it, but you may want to go easy on that.

I sure hope no one does that. But it is sure great when you let off the brake to accelerate and the car doesn't roll back at all.

Manual says..

This is what the US manual says
(for my fwd rdx) --
Hill start assist helps to prevent the vehicle from rolling on inclines as you move your
foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Move the shift lever to
(D or (S when facing uphill, or (R when facing downhill,
then release the brake pedal.

The brakes remain engaged briefly as you release the brake pedal
