heated seats

I've got 6k miles on a 2013 RDX and I don't believe the seat heaters are working. The dealer's service rep told me the heat will not come on until the temp gets down to a certain level. It was July in FL so I couldn't argue. We've had some cool mornings recently and still no heat (even in FL that heat feels good on a bad hip). I appreciate any help!

I think your dealer is possibly full of "it". My heated seats always work. I imagine that there is a share of people who use the heated seats not only for warmth but for relief for some back pain. I'd verify that they aren't getting warm after about 5 minutes on and consider returning to the stealership and having them demonstrate on another RDX how they "don't come on" in the same temperature.

Steve, They should activate any time as the others have said. I found this out by accident during the summer when I inadvertently activated the switch.

Yep, even if I put it on in the heat of the summer by mistake, it is clear the heat is on.

...but although they should work 365 days a year (unless there is a problem with them), rest assured that they do take some time before you start feeling the heat so be patient.

I thought I read somewhere that it takes 15 minutes! But I hit the button by mistake recently and it seems like it only took a few minutes to get pretty warm.

I noticed my wife left the seat heater on after I drove about 2 minutes. It's quick enough and it was 70 here.

Hi Gregg....I think the quoted 15 minutes is too long. The seats in my TL/RDX take about 3-5 minutes but unlike a GM prodcut my friend had, his would warm up in less than 1 min

Mine warm up in about 5 minutes, but it depends on how cold it is.

Seat heat oughta come on at any outside air temperature. And, it oughta take no more than a couple of minutes to feel it!

If you turn it on high you should be able to feel it within a few minutes (<5 min). The low setting can sometimes take quite a while to feel anything, depending on how cold the seat was already. If I just want a little heat I'll put it on high until I start to feel something, then I'll kick it down to low just to maintain that level.
But in either case, I've tried it in both warm and cold temps and they always work.
