The 6 speed is smoother than the 8 speed. No need for a turbo charger since the engine is already very powerful. But if they do, they should put in a super charger instead of a turbo charger. In the future, all cars will be electric. The new Acura NSX has 3 electric motors.

Since the RDX just had a MMC, any updates will have to wait after 2019-2020 with an all new model. I don't think Acura with "mess with success". I think we will see more exterior updates, same level of tech with minor improvements with smartphones, minor improvement in safety, and 8/9AT with the all new design. I doubt they will add a hybrid option for the CUV/SUV vehicles.

The RDX is in a weird position of being first out the gate in 2013 with the newer design+old tech and not being a flagship model. When they bring out the all new RDX, I think the styling will be a peek of the all new MDX that will follow 1-2 years later. Acura can't add any tech above the current MDX or folks will opt for the cheaper +2019 RDX model.

I think the RDX will be moved to a mid-range model (baby MDX). Acura did trademark the name CDX that will be based off the Honda HR-V. I think this will be a new model to balance out the line-up, provide an entry level CUV to get the younger buyers, and most likely to see 2.4L I4 STD or even a turbo version. Most other luxury (and near luxury) brands have around 3 CUV/SUV models to pick from.

I saw the gla and I like compact crossovers

I want to stay with Acura

Once my tlx lease ends in 2018 I would make the change

CDx sounds intriguing but we will see what they put under the hood

Doubt they will change anything drastically until the new body design is released.

A new 8 or 9 speed dual-clutch transmission would do wonders for fuel mileage, but I don't know if it's necessary given the VCM drops usage at coasting speeds.

Turbo would be pretty awesome - but I don't know how likely it is before a full model overhaul. I've driven a Gen 1 RDX and the turbo felt good, but I've heard horror stories about lag and fuel mileage.

The growth in the electric car segment seems fast year over year, but compared to total global automotive sales, it's a tiny fraction. I don't think Acura will compete with an all electric consumer vehicle using their existing models, they will likely roll out a new smaller model to test those waters.

It would be great if Acura read this blog or had an online suggestion box.

I am sure they have to consider pricing and profits and maybe that is why they leave out certain features.

I would be happy if Acura would add more sport into the line-up. Add sh-awd for the RDX, option for sport+ IDS, larger front/rear stabilizer bars, a few extra HP, 7DCT option, sporty interior, and sporty exterior.

I'm having a hard time giving up my 08 RDX with Hondata+ETS intercooler for any +13 RDX for this reason.

Me too. An RDX Type S would be a cool concept.

I am sure the things we want would cut into their profit margin

Hopefully they will consider these in 2019 or whenever they update

I would be happy if you could do any interior color with any exterior color.

It would be nice if car dealers did what tesla does.

Have a way to customize features and order a car.

Then either pick it up or have it shipped to ones house.

Acura gave me the option to have the car shipped to my house. I chose to pick it up. Didn't want someone else driving it initially, not sure how careful they would be.

Most of our local dealers use tow trucks to deliver new cars or pick up/drop for service, using tow trucks.

They don't drive to the houses...at least in big cities.....
