DPSF fluid shortage? Dual pump II same?

So it seems like there is a shortage of the DPSF fluid for the rear diff due to the UAW strike. Put in an order thru Bernardi Acura and it says I may receive Honda Dual Pump II fluid as an alternative, which I did. So....is it the same stuff? I read both that it's fine and also NO don't ever use it in an Acura. So what's the score? Acura dealer sent it to me so must be ok right?

They are the same fluid, one is just branded Acura and one is branded Honda. I use the Honda dual pump II fluid for the rear diff in the RDX just because it's cheaper and more accessible from a dealer parts counter.

Coincidentally, I need to do this service again here too. If I remember off the top of my head, the rear diff capacity is 0.5 qt. , so I'm hoping the half qt left in my existing bottle will suffice....don't want to spill any and not have enough.

Ok, thanks. I was hoping this was the case. There is a lot of misinformation out there.

Just did the fluid change and noted the capacity in the book says 1.32 qts.but it took just over 1.5 qts before it ran out the fill hole with car fairly level. Hope I didn't overfill it...

In my 2009 TL manual it says rear SH-AWD differential use only ATF Z1, but in 2011 Acura decided to abandon the conventional ATF Z1 and switched to synthetic DPSF. I don’t use these garbage fluids from Honda because I know that Honda doesn’t make fluids, but buys them from an unknown supplier. For the rear SH-AWD differential and transmission 2009 TL the last 60k and for the rear differential 2013 RDX the last 70k I use only High quality German Top Tec ATF 1200, It is a substitute for ATF Z1, but has the smell and color of DPSF.

Ah, that makes sense. I might just need a single quart more then. And I don't think you can overfill it, as it's supposed to run out of the fill hole but I'm not certain.

You should know that the internet is the greatest source of unconfirmed information.

I like to get information from the source, and not from their call centers or even the service advisor at a dealership, but from technical bulletins, etc.
