Is cruise control supposed to disengage when turn signals are activated?

The cruise control on my 2016 RDX disengages when I use the turn signals. But not always, maybe 90% of the time, and it seems more consistent with the right signal than the left. Is this the expected behavior?

To add to my confusion, after replacing the driver door lock actuator due to an electrical fault of some sort, the cancelling effect of the turn signals on cruise control went away for a few hours of driving. Now it's back. This makes me think there are more electrical gremlins afoot in this car.

The cruise disengaging when a turn signal is activated certainly isn't logical in some situations. Think about a very common circumstance; you are driving down an interstate, cruise engaged and you are frequently changing lanes. The cruise shouldn't be dropping out. But if your action of using a turn signal is accompanied with even a slight braking action, then it should drop out.
