Sounds like a good deal to me. That is a 40k+ car new. The current Carsdirect.com target price for a new '17 Tech AWD is $40,300 plus fees. You are getting the identical car with a better warranty(CPO extends over the factory warranty) for ~$6k less.
The one thing that makes me nervous with this deal is you mentioned it was a loaner car. We all know loaners typically get beat up more than a genuine CPO that was maintained by the first owner. Personally I wouldn't buy a loaner but that's just me.
i am new to this forum and not sure what made you think this is more of urban legand . Most of the 2016 rdx which are on sale are loaners as who would sell a 2016 which is just an half year old unless it has some major issues . I was in a impression that loaners are most taken care cars as they stay at dealer and get serviced quite often

I tested RDX's real 0-60 number in a loaner, for multiple times, DO NOT EVER buy a loaner, an off lease car, and an off rental car, even they are so called CPO.
If you are in a competitive market (SoCal. DC,...) you can easily get 5k off MSRP for a new 2016 AWD Tech (if there is any left).

I did test drive yesterday , It was smooth , no rattle sound or vibrations at 100 mph speed . Car warranty started from 3/11/16 , so with CPO i would be getting Acura certified warranty till 3/11/21 . I will update the forum if i get behind the wheels on my RDX soon
I admit I've done some questionable things in loaner and rental cars (Not going to lie, the MDX kinda surprised me compared to its size), however, I do some even more questionable things in my own personal TL and no issues at 127k... A modern car can withstand some abuse (as long as you aren't doing some absolutely stupid things) IMO. A rental/loaner/lease car doesn't really scare me off as long as I'm getting a good deal (b/c the "ex-loaner/ex-rental" stigma attached to it when it comes to resale) and as long as the car is in great shape mechanically and cosmetically.
As mentioned above, you can get a new one for ~$3-4k more in some metro areas.

You really think an RDX can't take a few hard launches? The car in question is still under factory warranty for years or 44k miles and the CPO takes it out even longer. He should be good to go. If he could buy a brand new one for the same price then I would pass, but I find that unlikely.
A rental car on the other hand might be a different story for me. Besides they usually smell funny and have french fries and cheerios wedged in tight places. Yecch!
