Closing Driver's Door from Inside?
Closing Driver's Door from Inside?
Strange that the vaunted Honda engineers couldn't figure out a way to get a grab handle, or strap on the inside of the driver's door to assist closing the door once you are inside the car, strapped in.
Apparently, all the real estate on the door panel was given over to buttons and no room was left to put a grab handle without blocking the controls.
I'm having a very difficult time getting the door closed once seated in the car. I've taken to grabbing the lip on the storage bin. But, that flexes the door panel quite a lot and seems like a poor, long-term solution.

Hmm. Isn't there a cup right behind the window control switches that is for grabbing the door?
Like right under your elbow when the door is closed and your arm is on the armrest?

But when I say "go to McDonald's," the nice lady says: "Please close the driver's door and proceed to the highlighted route. Then the route guidance will start." Standoff!
OP - as suggested above, just use that little cubby-cup in the armrest instead of messing with the lower storage bin lip. My cubby's only other use is to collect gum wrappers and used toothpicks.

I actually did notice this change when moving from the MDX to the RDX. The MDX has the handle (like the one on the RDX passenger door pictured above), and the RDX doesn't. Yes, you can reach the door cup-thing behind the window switches to close it, but if you're short it's a stretch - and much less convenient if there was a handle to grab. But, I also noticed that when the door is closed, there isn't any place for the handle to be and still reach all the buttons, etc. Ah, the extra size of the MDX has value, I guess.. :-)
