Hi everyone, I have 2016 RDX with approximately 72,000 miles on it. I noticed the check emissions light comes on when tank initially 1/8 left in it, then 1/4 tank and now 1/2 tank full. Initially, I thought it was because gas cap not closed tight but everytime I fill up now (3 times full gas since light came on), the light would go off after but then reappear around the 1/2-3/4 tank mark. Wondering if there is faulty sensor in gas cap that could be causing this? I just had my MA emissions sticker done and it passed so I do not think it's anything too major?

Any input?

 

I would go through the emission system...

I would check the EGR, PCV and the evap purge valve and the gas cap.

check for carbon debris in EGR.
Check for the valve in the PCV.
check to see if the gas cap seal is still good.
and lastly check the valve in the purge valve

 

Replace a gas cap. It is cheap and may be a culprit. It also may take several trips to reset.

 

The thing to do is have the codes read. Then you are not guessing.
