Interesting. I wonder how (if at all) it differs from the Honda cover. It needs to be made slightly smaller so it fits tighter on the fob, so maybe that's what they did.

I am seriously noticing the wear on mine now. Way ugly...might need to find that bed-liner spray...

Has anyone had issues with the keyfob not working anymore, or does it just get scratched and look like junk after a bit?

Shows currently out of stock, I called them (Roger) and able to get one (sample they had). He confirmed that it will be soon back in stock in next 2 weeks.
I just checked and the RDX 2013 key fob cover is now in stock. Has anyone bought this yet? I was wondering if it fit any better than the Honda version.

Last summer I bought the Honda version. The fit was pretty good. The openings did not line up perfectly, but still pretty good. I don't usually push any of the buttons, so that is not important to me. The only problem I had is that over time, the cover starts to slip off more easily. I wondered if the RDX 13 version would stay on any better. My guess is that it won't, but I wanted to check and see if anyone had any first-hand experience.

Thanks,

Gregg

I just received two of them last night. Good tight fit. Covers fob up to the actual key.

Received mine last week, fit is fine, snugness-wise, and line-up wise. Just wish it covered the whole fob, including top.

This might be a silly question... does anyone ever file claim to get the smart key fob replaced under warranty for pre-mature wear? I have never seen a one year old fob looks worse than my 8 years old key fob from other cars.

Not a silly question a great question....what would a new fob cost if we had to replace? BTW my wife's fob on her 2007RL still looks brand new!

Received my black key fob cover from thejacketstore. Yes, it works well to protect the fob. But I honestly don't like it, and here's why:

1) It's a pocket lint magnet.
2) The sticky rubber material it's made of makes it harder to put in/take out of a pants pocket.
3) The thin dividers separating the button areas flex very easily and feel like they will tear after a short while.
4) The cover adds bulk to the fob.

Check the photos...

I wish they would have made this cover from a harder (yet flexible) vinyl or PVC material with a smoother finish so that it could slide in/out of pockets easier and be less prone to picking up lint.

I took mine apart. It looks like it would be easy to paint with a metallic finish. Probably needs to be lightly sanded first. I've got a bit of time to kill over the 4 day weekend, maybe I'll try it.

I had the one for Honda for 2-3 months and had no issues as you described ...set of ones for Acura arrived last weekend and yet to have issue .. but then again I do not have lint in my packets ...the bulk seems non issue to me ...

I agree with you here. I have the gray and the black one. The gray one hides dust pretty well. The black one isn't good at all. The rubber is super flexible; the middle portion as in your pictures reveal that they're easily warped. I think that in the summer, the middle bits will break easily. TPU or PVC would have been great. Acura doing it right by giving us a nice FOB would've been perfect.

I finally decided to write about my leather fob holders now that I know they "do the job."

First off....the ones from the "Jacket Store" do not cover all of the fob..and thus are useless to me....better than nothing I guess.....but....

Go to http:/store.ijdmtoy.com
This site is mostly for lighting and similar...BUT, they do have some real leather fob holders.
The part # is: AA2010 that works well for our 2nd gen RDX's.

I have (4) of them...since I own 2 Acuras. These leather....carbon twill look..real leather holders are a real buy at $6.99 each....and they work! My 4 fobs still look new!! The "pin end" has a 2 piece pin that unscrews so you can then place the fob in it's position and the pin will go through the opening of the fob corner. It then "swings" into place and there is a snap to keep it in. Really nice quality for the price. All 4 of mine are still like new. The only thing I have to do is double check the "pin" to make sure it is staying tight. At times I have to tighten a few turns.

So, of all the ones I can find or have seen...this one seems to me to be the best deal...highest quality...and it works! Again...my 4 fobs all look new.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

Without reading your post, I bought the same leather cover. I like it except for the fact that its too long. Hopefully soon there will a good custom Acura Key cover.

As I recently bought my TL - Driver 2 keys was severely beat up. I was think that key had gone through hell but after reading all the comments here, i know its a cheap key.

I found this on ebay - seem to be made to size (hopefully) and they are cheap. Bought two, time to wait an estimated 10-15 days since they are coming from China.

That doesn't look bad; just more than I want to have in my pocket.

I noticed Saturday when trading in our '11 Volvo C70 for a final-year '13 model... Same key fob over the years and I had trouble telling them apart...one brand new, the other used for 2.75 years .

Still considering hitting mine(RDX) with the bed-liner spray
