Cheap Plastic Door/window panels?

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2014 RDX AWD (Non Tech) about 2 months old. I started to notice the Black plastic door/window panels between the Front door and back door have started to fade and kind of looks white. (Think of when you take a black piece of plastic and start to bend it and you can see the stress of the plastic turn white)

Is this normal? Is this just a cheap plastic panel? Should i bring it in and have them look at it? Let me know your thoughts!

Not normal. Have you applied any cleaner/wax products to these parts?
They are textured and as such wax residue could be the cause.
Try Mothers Back to Black to see if that restores it.

eaw2298....I am not 100% we are talking about the same thing (here is where a pic would help) but I see the same on my RDX and even my TL and my former TSX. If its the same thing I am experiencing, you just need a wet cloth and wash it off.....

Hey Everyone,

Here are some pictures of the panels. It definitely doesnt come off with a washing and when it dries, it dries like this. I also havent used any cleaners or wax on this area at all. Any ideas?

Mine have a similar look under the sun on day one after picking up the car. I am not very happy with some of the materials Acura uses to build this car.

Noticed this when I bought my car. Spoke to the dealer and the head of the service department, they said it was definitely noticeable and that they could replace it under warranty. I bought the car in Portland (I live in Seattle), they said to just give a call a week or two in advance to order the part to replace it same day for me.

My panels don't look as bad as yours, but it's still pretty disappointing. I'd take it into the dealer and get them replaced.

Thanks Miles. I plan on calling the dealer and having it replaced.
