Bluetooth Problem. :(

Hello Fellas,

I have a 2Gen 2014 RDX Tech.(75k+-)

Just last week, my Bluetooth music stopped working, FM/AM radios stopped working as well, however, HFL still works???
The speaker rings when I have an incoming call, I can talk on it no problem. Speaker has no sound only when playing Bluetooth music or radios, any thoughts on what is wrong?

HFL: working
Bluetooth Music: not working (no sound)
FM/AM radio: not working (no sound)

Please advise, I really don't want to take my car to the money robbing dealership.

Have you tried un-pairing your phone from the car and setting it up again? Also try unplugging anything in your car and try the radio. As far as your bluetooth, I'd try to delete your phone as I mentioned before and try a different device to see if the issue persists.

What I have done already to try to solve the problem, as follow
1. reset radio
2. un-pair phone (delete) + pair
3. pair to a different phone
4. unplugged all accessories in car
5. unplug car battery
After doing all of the above bluetooth music and radio still does not work

Have you tried using the AUX port? The impression that I am getting is you're not getting sound, but still getting power to the head unit and still able to connect a bluetooth device. Make sure to check that none of your fuses are burnt out either.

Also, try playing a CD, see if that works.

Hey guys.

Few days back, I tried the AUX port (not working) CD player (not working).

This morning. I needed to run an errand, started the car like I normally would, drove out the garage, about 5 min into the drive, my bluetooth music started blasting......

does this sound like a fuse problem?

If it were a fuse issue, then the fuse would have to either be 100% blown or still working like normal. My gut tells me that it seems like you might have loose wiring or maybe something got slightly unplugged.

That makes sense, the fuse is either working or not working, won't be intermitten

Alexmed2002 any idea where I can start checking?

To be honest I'd check all the plugs and wiring behind the stereo. You would have to take apart the center console, but you might find your issue. If nothing seems wrong, maybe try getting a used OEM stereo and see if that changes anything. Electric gremlins are the worst.

Is the bluetooth and radio working today?

Check the connections at the battery as well.

BTW, what phone do you have? Was there a recent update to the phone?

Hello dtownfb,

Yes, so far it has been normal (fingers crossed).

I did check the battery connection when I unplugged for testing, cleaned the terminals, and applied new grease as well.

I have iPhone 12 Pro, the phone is on auto-update, just checked it now and it's on the latest ios version.

I'm hoping the rdx is just throwing a tantrum for not driving it enough, the car is on battery tender almost 4 days out of the week since I have multiple vehicles that need their share of the road.

I wonder if this is causing the issue.

Alex,

More towards being parked and not moving for a long time? Or the battery tender?

The battery tender. Cars can be picky sometimes.
