Bike Rack Recommendation?

Just as the title says, does anyone have a recommendation for a bike rack (a rack that can hold several bikes)? Thanks.

We started with a horizontal hanging rack. With 4 mountain bikes that didn't work very well. We then purchased a Swagman 4 bike platform. This was much better but lots of cursing was involved and the arms that hold down the bikes started to wear the protective film I have installed on mine. Just last month I purchased a Thule XTRpro and add on for a total again of 4 bikes. So much better, easy to use and no frame contact. Live and learn.

I have the Allen Sports 2 bike carrier, locking version. Very well built. Much cheaper than Yakima and Thule. But compare them all and see which fits your needs the best. I only use mine a few times a year, so the Allen works well for me.

Good luck.

1Up is my personal favorite and the rack I've been running
Kuat > Thule would be my next choice.

If you're transporting mountain bikes, or any heavy bike for that matter, I'd really fork up the money for a nice platform style bike rack. It'll cost you a lot more if your bike falls off and someone runs it over on the road.

Vote for Kuat!

Got a Kuat and ride more because it’s so easy to pop the bike on and feel secure. Great rack - needs hitch obviously.
