Back-Up Camera Problems
Back-Up Camera Problems
My dealership is 2 hours away and I'm in the middle of 2 Honda dealers which are both 25 minutes away, so I take my RDX to Honda for service. Anyway, I've been noticing my back-up camera's image isn't as it should be, it's almost like there's water inside the lens causing a distorted image. This isn't my first vehicle with a camera so I know they're useless in the winter but to check I took some cleaner and cleaned the lens off really good and it's still distorted. I will take a picture of it later but I'm wondering if failure is something that is common with the RDX's rear camera?
Definitely something is not right with your camera. Look like the lens is off or something obstructing the lens. I know the RDX camera is almost useless in the rain but this is seriously not right. Have it fixed while it still under warranty.

Clear warranty issue.
Absolutely...
May be the water originally seeped in through the defective rear quarter panels....and then the same water got into the camera and flowed through to your rear wheel well causing it to rust....
.
Solution..punch the guy you fixed you rear panel....

If you've built a rapport with the Honda dealership, you could certainly drive by there on a slow day and ask the service advisor if they've ever seen this before.
I suspect that the lens assembly will need replacement.
Given all of the issues that you've had, I would write a letter (using real paper, stamps and an envelope - registered) to Acura, outlining the problems and asking them to replace the car. While none of the issues rise to the legal definition of a lemon in most states, you've had way more issues than most owners and Acura should take care of you.
Be friendly in the letter, explain the issues rationally, don't get all whiny about "emotional distress" or the like but stick to facts. You bought the car based on features and reputation for quality, in discussions with other owners, you have many more issues that affect the drivability of the car, yada, yada, yada.
If you get real lucky, they'll buy the car back. If you get kinda lucky then they'll throw some money at you. If you don't get lucky then you've wasted a couple bucks on the letter.
Important:
Real letter
registered
stick to facts
don't be whiny
