Rear Dog Legs Beginning to RUST!

Gave my RDX it's first proper winter wash yesterday and found this on both sides. Looks like something cut into the rubber seals and the metal underneath has started to rust. This car hasn't even been out of the factory a year (it's a 2015) and so far my rear quarter panels have been painted 2x and my hood and front fenders will need to be fixed because they're binding. I thought Honda produced some quality cars but I'm beginning to think they aren't what they used to be. My 2008 Civic is just showing its first signs of rust!

Anyone else notice this?

I can't understand which part of the car is this.. Can you post some pictures oriented normally please.
I feel for you. you car seems to have a lot of problems for a new car. Rear panels, reverse camera, and now rust..!!! Hope you are able to resolve it under warranty.

I had trouble at first, but I think these are pictures of the wheel wells. I did not know what dog legs were, but I finally saw what I assume are the mud flaps.

Hopefully those are better.. it's the rear wheel wells and yes, I'm convinced it was built on a long weekend Friday.

Old civics used to have the rubber on well which would trap in salt and rust horribly, then they redesigned n got rid of all together.

Thats def not acceptable for a one year old car though

Any chance its something that splashed on there rather than seeped through the parts?

Besides salty water, slush and snow I don't think I've driven through any corrosive chemicals that would cause this to happen (besides road salt).
