Any viable options for DRLs yet??

Been a while since I've checked back here. Looking for some better DRLs for my 2013 RDX. Keeping the high beam function is a must though. Getting tired of the halogens. They are so ugly. Ugh. I know LEDs have gotten better over the last couple years.. any options for us?

Also.. what size are the DRLs/high beam bulb size anyway?

Thanks in advance!

I put these in my 2014 RDX and had them in my 2012 Pilot as well. Outfitted both of my kids vehicles with Highs & Lows. Never had any issues with them EVER. They are STUPID bright both as DRL's and High Beams. Just be sure and adjust your Headlight pattern light after installing them. Promise you won't be disappointed.

(You can find your bulb guide sizes HERE )

The probem with putting LEDs in the DRLs/high beams is that they will always be running at full brightness, no matter what. You will be blinding anyone in front of you. Also take into consideration that the DRLs/high beams were designed for Halogen bulbs, not LEDs. The reflectors will differently display the pattern from the light, and there's a chance that the reflectors can get burnt out...

Oh no, that's not good @Alex Medeiros ! Based on the reviews from some of the guys on Amazon for the link that @Mr Twisty provided, it appears that it'll run at lower voltage for DRL and then when needed in high beam once activated? @Mr Twisty can you confirm this? I definitely wouldn't want to be driving around with high beams on the entire friggin time blinding people. That's not my intention by any means.

@Mr Twisty you mentioned to adjust the headlight pattern light after I installed these. Are you referring to the DRLs/high beam or the low beam adjustment? I don't plan to use these for low beam applications since I have the tech package with HIDs already. Secondly, how does the color match up with the stock HIDs for the Techmax you linked? I noticed it stated that they were 6500K while stock HIDs are typically 4300K if I'm not mistaken?

They do run at a lower voltage and there are no issues with them whatsoever. They will be substantially brighter than stock Halogens, just FYI.

As far as the adjusting, there are 2 models of Techmax, 1st is just a solid unit, the second allows you to turn the bulb and lock it in place to match as closely as possible the most effective beam pattern.

I did tip my bright Beams down a bit to obtain a better cast on the roadway.

My model did not have the HID's, so I have high beam and low beam Techmax.

Ahh ok gotcha. So the DRL/high beam do work as intended? DRL during normal driving and once switched on, the same bulb turns brighter for high beam?

And yeah, I mean I figured that they'd be substantially brighter than the stock halogens and I'm ok with that for DRL just as long as it doesn't bind on coming traffic.. I guess I better do a before and after to double check how high the DRL is currently to make sure the TECHMAX matches that in order to not blind people.

So the one that you linked, is that the 1st or 2nd model? I'm assuming the 2nd is the better one?

Yes the are less bright as DRL's. The second upgraded model as the adjustable variant HERE
