Acura asked for my advice on what to include in the 2018 RDX
I recommended to Acura to add a few features to the next generation RDX. I gave them an extensive list of features, in order of importance. Some of the highlights are (not in any particular order):
-Panoramic sunroof
-Heads Up Display
-Make the cabin ultra quiet
-Add turbo or supercharged engines
-Add superhandling AWD
-Reclining backseats
-Automatic parking assist
-Welcome lights
-Upgrade the navigation system: increase speed and higher resolution but keep the two screens which is awesome
-360 parking camera
-Use more female models in advertisements (that will elevate the brand)
Are these features you would like in the next generation Acura also?

IF they are interested in "modernizing" their technology (instead of being 5-10 years behind the times), tell them to take a look at what other manufacturers are doing .... or even take a look at the new civic. I wouldn't ask them why the 2015/6 civic has technology that isn't even available on the new generation RDX or why many other manufacturers - to include KIA, yes even KIA (the most reliable brand made today) - offers so much more technology in their vehicles than acura. I would just point out to them that if they no longer want to be Honda's unwanted stepchild lead by the "B team" that they need to get into the game.

Null and proud of it
Ok, let me point out the obvious, did the ask you for suggestions, or did you e-mail Acura a random wish list...
Tried that with Honda before, didn't work, I asked for the old JDM starter sound to be brought back...

IF any of this is true, it's kind of pathetic. Acura needs to ask people what their cars should have? Really? Is it really that complicated?

When the 2016 civic offers more content that is even possible to get on the RDX..... perhaps they do need to ask people what they want as they aren't capable of figuring it out themselves. That's the drawback to being the stepchild in an organization - you get the leftovers either in personnel or equipment.

But Rockyboy swears that the coffee attendant girl at the Acura dealership (mentioned previously) asked for his advise.

Acura, so far, hasn't pushed any boundaries in up-to-date tech and luxury features like you find on other luxury brands compared to pushing tech unique to Honda/Acura like P-AWS, sh-awd, i-vtec, sohc high rev engines, and 4 wheel steer prelude back in the day. Whatever is the current styling of the +17 MDX is what we will see for the 3rd Gen RDX. The same will go for the tech level for the 3rd Gen RDX (the same level or a touch below the +17 MDX tech/adv minus sh-sh-awd hybrid++7DCT+active suspension option).
We pretty much have to purchase the Honda version to get the latest tech/features sometimes compared to the Acura version. Other than styling and suspension settings, Acura could almost be consider a trim level compared to its own luxury stand along brand. They would +3X-5X sales if they put Honda on the bumper and call it a "Sport" or Type S or Type R Honda.
I would rather see something that is 100% unique to Acura and above Honda/Nissan/Toyota like:
- Turbo and/or supercharger with more PSI than the Honda engines
- Acura gets larger displacements NA engines or tuned for way more HP/TQ if turbo/superchargers are not available
- 7/8/9DCT for Acuras
- 6MT option for ILX/TLX
- shawd option for all vehicles, will need to upgrade 2.4L NA to turbo/supercharger or go with sh-sh-awd+2.4L NA
- shawd with more rear bias for sport+ mode
- more hybrid tech option on all models
- make the towing on the RDX at least 3500lbs
- sport+ on all models
- bring back the A-Spec suspension with larger stabilizer bars
I just want Acura to bring back the sport option along with the tech and luxury.

There are some good recommendations on here. I've covered the most important ones. What are people referring to when they say the Civic has more features than the Acura? That doesn't sound accurate. A fully loaded Civic might have more features than a base RDX but you should compare fully loaded to fully loaded.
Also, someone mentionned Kia. First, these are not the most reliable vehicle. Second, it's a Kia. That's not a luxury vehicle unless you're looking at the K900. But for the price of a K900, you can get an Acura, a Lexus, Infiniti, Jaguar, or a German luxury car. A Kia might be an okay car if you have a family with kids. If you're not married, it's probably better to drive a luxury brand. Why? Hot girls laugh at guys driving Kia's. I know, it's stupid... but I don't make the rules. If you're not married and okay with attracting below average girls, Kia would be fine. I wish the world weren't like that, but that's the way it is.

The K900 competes with the likes of the 5 series, E Class, A6, GS etc in terms of size and engine/features, not a TLX or 3 series. A base model of any of those are north of $50k while the Kia tops out a bit over $60k. the Kia will likely be ~$15k cheaper than a comparable true luxury car.

When I was at the Acura dealer two weeks ago, I gave pretty much the same inputs to them, except it was for the 2019 RDX. It seemed sort of strange that they'd ask my opinion since I don't actually drive a RDX, but I figured I'd entertain their inquiry. Especially since they were gracious enough to provide me with the best boutique marque, pod-based coffee product.
I gave them quite the list of suggestions and considerations for the future model. The gentleman was furiously taking down notes and agreeing quite adamantly with what I was saying. I truly think he understood that Acura was starting to slip from the #1 position in the luxury transportation market and needed to do something to get back to their previous glory. In the end, after he ran out of paper in his notebook, I had almost said all I needed to say. So I thought to myself, "what would Rockeybox do" and then I humped a doorknob and ran off.
The most entertaining aspect of the whole ordeal was that once I got home, it hit me that I had spent 6.5 hours (Canadian) talking to their potted ficus.
