2018 RDX Now Available!
The 2018 RDX is now officially released on Acura.com website. Yup, it appears virtually identical to the 2016-2017. With that said it does look like they slightly modified the Advance trim wheels with black out markings. A nice touch. Everything else seems identical to the 2016-2017. In a way I’m like woohoo as that means my 2016 RDX Advance is still current for at least another year.

Yep,dark gray which I do like.I'm not a fan of black trim wheels.
That $675 LED fog option is nuts no matter what year they were available.
Anybody here get the option?

As to the fog lights, the dealer finance guy asked when I bought my '17 advance, propping up how nice the LEDs were, then quoted the price....he saw the look on my face and just move right on. The sales person later told me they had a great set of aftermarkets for less than half, if I wanted them. I rarely use the fogs, so I passed, anyway. I wonder how many people actually go for that ridiculous price!

I suspect there's some confusion between LED headlights and LED fogs. The '17 Advance was equipped with LED headlights standard plus halogen fogs. It's simple and inexpensive to change out the halogen bulb for an LED in the fogs.

Here is another couple of photos from acura.com which to me show wheels identical to your '16 photo above.

Maximum light transmission in fog is actually somewhere in the blue band around 4700 angstroms. Yellow fog lights were once thought to be better due to misunderstandings of lumen output of the lamps used back in the 1950s.

There is no doubt the black and grey coloured interior of the wheel is minute, but they both look fine. I like the grey inserts. As for the extra for foglight's, really??? I would not pay the extra for them. They just get broken by rocks, and you have to replace them when you sell the car. My neighbour has the new Accord V6 Touring, and the foglights are LED's. Should have this on the RDX, that and the heated steering wheel they have on the new CRV. Sheesh.

I'll take the heated steering wheel over all the fancy fog lights and ventilated seats. It's amazingly useful 4-5months of the year in Canada. Nobody gives a crap about fog lights these days. Streets are well lit and HID/LED provides more than enough visibility both ways.
But it don't tell any of this to Acura's marketing department because they're still bathing in their glory days in the 90s.

I may be wrong but I suspect you might be confusing between the Kelvin color temperature values and wavelengths???
#17
Touring
Wavelength is what is quoted: "As to the artificial fog produced from the aqueous vapour of low pressure, a maximum of transmission coefficient was found at about 4700 Å and a minimum around 5050 Å. As the wave-length increased, the transmission coefficient also seemed to increase, but some decrease was found at 8100 Å to 9500 Å. As to the fog produced with a sprayer, a maximum was also found at 4700 Å and its value decreased gradually as the wave-length increased. A small increase was found at 7500 Å to 8100 Å, but a gradual decrease was again noticed at 8100 Å to 9500 Å."

It's sad to find a thread about the 2018 RDX only to find comments about wheel trim colors and fog lights. I was hoping for more. No Android Auto? No climate zone for rear seat? I'm looking to replace my 2001 MDX but I'll have to look elsewhere.

Andoid Auto works great.Using AA with NAV is much better than oem built in NAV.

I wouldn't hold out for a third zone on the climate control. It doesn't have a third row so really doesn't need it. The center console vents cover it pretty well. The 2018 being a carryover has been known for quite a while. They already did the model improvements in 16 so it wasn't expected they would do another refresh. If you can wait a year the '19 will be all new and based on the CR-V..

My son lives in Phoenix and there is a dealer there that had 6 identical '17 White AWD Advance on their lot (all with parchment leather). He was looking for a new vehicle for his wife and loves our RDX. I was thinking that the dealer might have some great wiggle room on the price, especially since the '18 is identical to the '17 and they drive their vehicles for 6-8 years, minimum. Usually, there is something minor in the model year changeover; however, at least so far (and until someone sees those wheels on the Advance) there appears to be NOTHING that has changed, not even a new color combo ala '17.
Will be interesting to see if there are any, even minor, changes at all.

Acura makes little to no changes to its SUVs after the MMC. It was just color changes for my 2nd Gen MDX for the +MMC 10-13 model years (grey-stone interior for 12-13 models) and I think the same from the 1st Gen RDX +MMC 10-12. It will only be the difference in bluebook value when comparing the same models of 16/17/18 RDXs in a few years if they all have the same mileage.

- Don't mess it up by introducing the push-button shifter as we've seen recently in other models. I'm so afraid they're going to screw this up. I'm sorry Acura but the push-button shifter will not get you additional sales but will cause you to loose some.
- Give me dedicated hard buttons for radio volume and temperature control.
- Android Auto
- Rear seat climate zone. Competitors in this segment have this.

I'm easier.
Just give us heated steering wheel option in Canada! It's available on just about any other cars in this price range. It's the one feature that once you've had on another car you'll hate driving the RDX in the winter. I don't give a rat ass about colored wheels, or fog lights - seriously???

Heated Steering Wheel
i agree with you cFoo. I have had fog lights on a number of vehicles now and have never seen a difference driving when on or off. My 2016 RDX Tech has heated rear seating positions and those will never be turned on, however I certainly would enjoy having a heated steering wheel!
Acura Canada is still offering $3500 Manufacturer's Rebate. This has been offered for more than a year now. In fact I got that discount when I purchased my 2016

The Canadian 2017 RDX Base model has a $2000 Manufacturer's Rebate and the Tech and Elite models have a $3500 Rebate. This is not a new thing tho because when I purchased my 2016 RDX Tech in January/17 I was given the $3500 discount. Currently, the 2017 Honda CRV Touring is the same price as the Acura RDX base which comes standard with the entire AcuraWatch package, so why would a person buy the 4 cyl CRV?

I agree with your comment on the steering wheel. I live at 7000 ft with 120+ inches of snow per year. When I got my '17 Honda Ridgeline, it came with a heated steering wheel. At first, I was 'Meh'....then I used it once.....sold. Love the RDX ventilated seats for Phoenix in 120 degree weather, too. Funny thing is, the Canadian RL comes with ventilated seats but not the US version. The big joke over on the RL forum is how many small extras the Canadian model RL gets, compared to the US model (all built in the same plant, BTW). Surprising that you don't get a heated steering wheel on your RDX, then. Who can figure out what the bean counters are thinking.
Cheers.
Cheers.

You should see the difference in standard features in a Canadian and US Accord Sport model for just about the same cost.
Canadian version has...
Touch screen Audio System (with Car Play & Android Auto)
7 speaker sound system with subwoofer
Blind Spot Camera
Moonroof
Push Start
Remote Start
LED DRL's
Keyless Entry

They clearly also hired bean counters with no brain. "It's really cold in Canada, let's give them remote start, they won't need the heated steering wheel, they probably park the car inside where remote start is super useful."

The Canadian unit has power folding mirrors, rear heated seats and even a light for the low windshield washer fluid and I think a few other things the USA vehicle does not get.. Crazy. My Blue RDX came only with grey interior and in the USA it comes in black, which I would have preferred. It's just crazy. Who knows why.
