2017 Acura RDX vs 2017 Infiniti QX50
Currently own a 2014 Acura RDX and need to replace an older vehicle. Does anyone have any insight if the QX50 is a good choice or should I get another RDX?

I personally loved the QX50 and its 325hp 3.7l V6. The rear seat legroom was a lot better than expected with the wheelbase extension they did. Cargo space is small and it is not a typical compact SUV the way the RDX is. It is more of a tall sedan(based on the G37 platform). I highly recommend a drive to see what you think. It is getting long in the tooth and you have to get a top of the line model to get BT streaming if that is important to you. I liked it better with the standard 18" wheels vs the touring package with 19"ers as it rode a lot better.

The Infinity wasn't for me when I test drove it.....ride was harsh, lots of engine noise, steering wheel was too far to the left, not enough cargo space, and felt too much like driving a sports car. instead of an SUV..if i wanted a sports car I'd buy one.

Actually one of the reasons I was looking at it is because of its sporty driving mechanics combined with the increased seating height, but those other drawbacks don't sound too good.

IMHO the qx50 has a far superior interior to the RDX, however the RDX exterior is FAR FAR superior to the Qx50. Another thing to note if you live in snowy areas is that the infiniti is RWD biased even in AWD form where is pushes almost all the power to the rear wheels and only sends power to the front wheels after slipping, I imagine this being quite dangerous in snowy weather. Oh and resale value is not as strong.

I test drove the QX50 and was impressed by the power and handling and that was about it. The interior was small, it's low to the ground, the cargo room is small and the interior was eh. If you want an SUV for utility in any way, this really isn't the way to go. It is probably the best driver in the class, if that's important to you.

Have you looked at the Q3 or X1? I am liking the X1 a lot these days; I had one as a loaner and was very impressed for how well it rides [even when it is FWD biased]. PS: what about the VW Golf R? I love them

Had not considered those, I only looked at Japanese so far for the high reliability and low maintenance and repair cost. Plus these two seem to be the least expensive vehicles in the segment, and Infiniti generally offer high incentives.
