2017 Acura RDX and Android Auto

What are the chances that Acura would support Android Auto and Apple car play in the 2017 RDX models ?

Zero, I have a 2017 and it doesn't support it. Do you mean 2018?

Would it be a software update that could eventually enable it for the 2017 models ?

Why cant Acura give an option to upgrade the infotainment which will support android auto and car play. Heard the 2017 TLX infotainment has Carplay and android auto, i think Acura should enable TLX infotainment to work with RDX too.

As already mentioned, it is not a simple software update to “enable “ that feature. The RDX runs on older gen headunit unlike the TLX which seems to have the newer gen hardware version. Acura treats TLX on par with MDX and the RDX on par with ILX / civic. That’s the reality for the 2G RDX and we all have to live with it.
If you really want AA/ CarPlay on this RDX, there is a third party hardware upgrade available which will pretty much get you where you want to be. I don’t know the details of the hardware but it is somewhere in this forum if you are interested.

I believe this is the website Comfy is referring too. Anyone had experience installing these? I am considering getting it. Just purchased my 2016 Acura RDX technology package last night. Super excited!

Well that company/guy has been banned from Acurazine if that tells you anything. But they sure do have a compelling product.
