I need to pick up shower door which in the box measures 24" wide x 78" long x 4" thick and have it put inside the RDX. The 24" width does not seem to be a problem. For the 78" length, I will need to put the two back seats down. Even then, the box will hang out the back some. After it is in the car, should I push the power tailgate button (the tailgate will then rest on the box) or is there a manual way to pull the tailgate down to rest on the box which might be better?

Don't use the power tailgate. Close it manually as far as it will go and secure it with a rope.

Alternatively, you can stand up the box on its side and partially slide it between the front seats. That way, it should fit completely inside the vehicle.

 

I like the idea of turning the box on it's side and sliding it between the two front seats. However, if that doesn't work, how do I close the tailgate manually?
