Inventory of 2016 RDX,s seems to be slow to build up. A couple of months in new model year and most dealers dont have alot of stock of RDX,s. Thoughts anyone?

 

Takes a while to get a full inventory, as it just came out. I am sure the demand with all of the new features and changes is more.

 

There is nothing to worry about unless you plan to buy a dozen or 2.

Dealers should build enough inventory based on the amount they can sell in a month. It is no use to anyone if a new car sits on the dealership lot months before someone buys it.

 

Bought a '16 Advanced last month. The salesman expressed the wish that Honda would provide more inventory. "Could sell more if we could get more" was his remark.

It seems that Honda did not anticipate the demand for the Advanced -- in particular.

It will take some time for sub-contractors to provide the components necessary ramping up production.

 

I was told the same by my dealer - the advance trims are selling quick. He told me a lot of folks were downsizing from the MDX since they could get 90% of the MDX in the RDX for a heck of a lot less $$. I know that's what I did, we traded in our 2010 MDX for the RDX AWD Advance - we have 4 dealers in the Chicago area and only one had an advance in stock when I was ready to deal

 

I heard the same thing about the Advance stock being limited when I bought mine yesterday. In fact, the Advance AWD I bought yesterday was the ONLY one in stock at the #1 selling Acura dealer in the US (Pohanka in Chantilly, VA). They had a few of the Advance FWD, but they can't keep the AWD Advance in stock.

My salesperson was Adwoa (with an assist from a relatively new guy, Shawn Walker).

 

It's funny living in Canada we have never even seen a FWD RDX or MDX.

 

Nobody would buy it. period.

 

Pretty much. Similar thing in the pacific NW, you have to special order FWD SUVs, dealers don't even stock them here.
