2016 RDX - finally saw one

I was at my Dealer to have some service on my 2014 RDX and they had a 16 RDX top of the line unit in black. It is quite an improvement over my 14, and I like the new set-up for the dash with the 2nd screen, and the metal looking trim is nicer than the 14. Definately looks more upscale.

I like the new lights to the front and rear and the beak is much nicer looking. Very good improvement overall.

Now, I did not get to drive it but I was given a new top end ILX (2016), for a loaner and I have to say I was very impressed. Usually I get an ILX as a loaner, but it never has the Navi. The ILX looks almost identical to the 16 RDX as far as the dashboard goes. The 2nd screen was a bit intimidating when you first saw it but it took a few minutes to figure it out and the phone syncs easily and it works well. The ELS sound system is very good. The navi is much more upscale than my RDX with much better graphics. In fact the centre display between the tach and speedometer has a direction graphic in colour that mimics the navi which is very nice. This display also has a direction compass which is somewhat redundant on the navi model as the navi screen also has one. This display also had a colour lane departure warning, the adaptive cruise control worked well and tells you in a digital display how fast you have the cruise control set and it slows you down as soon as you get too close to the vehicle ahead. This display is heads and tails above my RDX's simplistic display.

The lane departure also shows up in he centre display and if you try to go into the lane beside you it try's to stop you.

All this on an ILX, I was very impressed with the new 2.4 litre engine and 8 speed tranny. Funny they did not change the tranny for the RDX to the 9 speed. How can your low end car have better features than the upper RDX which will likely run as is for another 3 years.

Finally, Acura has FINALLY produced a worthy metal buttoned key fob like the Audi's. This will not mar and rub away like mine.

The ILX is a very nice vehicle indeed. I assume all of these extras are on the new 2016 RDX top end vehicle.

Apparently these are outselling the TLX. I can see why.

Good effort.

thanks for the feedback. I was surprise how well is the ILX too. Back to topic, did you ask how much you can get if you're trading in the 14 RDX? Did you check out the 16 MDX too?

The plastic key fob takes the sheen away from the pre-facelift RDX for sure. In fact that's the only thing that bugs me about my car. It's only a year old but my key fob looks like it belongs to a 7 year old used car. All the shiny bits have wear on them.
