Question 2015 information timeframe

Hi all,

When do you guys think we should expect 2015 model announcement? Looking for the best educated guess here. Trying to decide if I should get a 2014 sometime in December or wait to see if there is anything noteworthy in 2015 model to go with instead.

Thanks!

The 2014 model was announced sometime in March or April of this year and started to hit dealer lots in June. I would expect the same time frame.

the changes to expect:
-maybe a hybrid model with the Accord hybrid engine
-safety stuff that is on the MDX, RLX, and Accord (LED headlights, lane changing tech, parking assist, and collision warning system - probably in tech or a new advanced package)
-possibly a new color or 2
-potential upgrades to the Nav system
-potential rear seat AC vents
-long shot but outside chance of an SH AWD version
-possible class 3 trailer hitch instead of the current class 1 (hitches are an add on at the dealer anyway)

don't expect any changes to the engine or body unless they add an SH AWD version with the MDX or RLX engine.

if the above stuff is added you are probably looking at a $500-750 price increase. I can see Acura adding the Pearl headlights on all models but the other stuff on the tech package. So it may just be a $300-400 price hike on the base and the rest on the tech / advanced packages.

Was it spring, really? Hmm... I remember it being mentioned that they announced it at Detroit Auto Show last 2 times with major changes spelled out but I might be mistaken. And I thought the show is typically in January. If spring is when we gonna have more info then it pushes it out considerably. In that case I might as well go for 2014. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think the 2015 will have any changes. Acura tends to do 3 year cycles on any updates, so the RDX would get a mid-model-year refresh for the 2016 model. So I'd guess the the 2015 will have no changes (maybe some colors).

I'm hoping for the ED engine to be incorporated. Maybe... a new ZF transmission but pretty unlikely. The ED engine from the MDX would be a nice change to the RDX.
