2013 RDX Nave does not announce street name???

Hello,

I just bought the car for about 10 days and haven't been driving it much yet. But I got a question on the NAV system. Maybe I did not find the right setting but I think the 2013 RDX Nave does not announce street name???

It will say "Turn right in 1/2 mile" then "Turn left at a quarter of a mile" but it never announce the street name... it that right?

A $100 Garmin announce street name and it does not make sense this system is less able than the $100 Garmin.

Thanks

I dont think so, I can only remember hearing freeways 101, 280, etc...

Agree, its lame, but not as lame as the inability to use the features in motion.

In my 4G TL you have to turn that feature on in one of the menus. So check your settings and see if you can find it there.

There should be a feature called street guidance. You can look it up in the huge navigation manual.

Btw, you can download a PDF of the RDX manuals if you register on owners.acura.com.

Thank you! I think that should do it for me. I ran outside and follow the direction and now all I I have to do is to test it. Whew, I think I haven't yet gotten used to the 'non-touch screen Nav yet". All these buried menu is a little overwhelming.

Once again, thank you.

Also, does the nav not make a ding sound when your at your turn? This has been helpful with my other nav systems and just wanted to make sure I didn't have that feature disabled?

Yours 'speaks' better than ours . Ours says "In half uh mile, turn left". Think they did that for Texas?

I miss the "ding" too. My Magellan had it but another Garmin unit I had did not make that sound.

I like the "little window" that shows distance in feet just before the turns. Sort of makes up for the ding!!

___

I don't know if they even hired an American to voice for the NAV... I think the lady is a foreigner LOL. Joking aside, the NAV does have loads of great features but in some respect the $100 to $200 GARMIN gives you better warning of the upcoming turn...so, I throw one in the car just in case .

I believed the street name is only available in English...If you are in Quebec, it might not be available in French. Not sure sure if that is the truth for Canadian models. I know it says street name feature is not available in Mexico or PR.

Thanks, but nope, I'm in BC. Still haven't found a way to turn it on and the dealer told me you can't as it's a 'safety' thing. I don't see how that's a safety issue, myself.

I wonder if later you can install the US software or something.. heh. Time will tell
