Transmission mount

I took my 01 CLS in to the dealership for oil change and a tranny check-up and was told that there's nothing wrong with the tranny itself but the transmission mount has been cracked and it needs to be replaced ASAP.
My question is, should the tranny mount be covered under transmission warranty?
My car is still under 5 year/100,000km major component warranty. (Canada) Shouldn't this be considered as a major component?
The dealer will charge me $250 for this thing.
Someone please let me know. Thanks!!

Yes, this should be replaced under warranty. Key word: should. Find another dealer to do it under warranty or just bitch and moan to this one.

I had a tranny lock up on me while driving and when I took it in to the dealer they said that the engine mount was also broken. They didn't dare try to charge me for it though. Also 250 sounds a bit steep, but what do you expect from a dealer. Bottom line is that I would expect it to be covered by the warranty.

motor and tranny mounts kaput

At 62,000 miles, I had broken motor and tranny mounts. The dealer discovered the broken mounts, when I complained that the CL-S was pulling to the right when I applied the brakes. Initially, the dealer informed me that it would be an out of warranty expense on me. I thought it strange that at 62,000 and zero accidents that I had broken mounts, so I asked they contact Honda. They fixed the mounts under warranty, and they provided a loaner car. I really think the CL is the worse automobile ever produced by Honda!

Guys, up here in Canada, warranty is a little different (3 years instead of 4 years for you people) so the warranty has expired on my CLS. (powertrain warranty is still there)Though, the car has never been in an accident.
In order for me to go bitch about getting it done for free of charge, I think I'll need to print this page and show it to the dealer.
Is there any Canadian owner that has had a broken transmission mount at all??
The dealer's now trying to charge me $280 CAD!!

Broken trans mount.

Contact American Honda yourself. They will arrange with your Vancouver dealer to install the new tran mount. Honda is aware of the short life on the motor and tranny mounts. They covered mine, and I am betting that you will be covered. Honda has enough negative publicity at present, and they will go out of there way to avoid additional negative hits.

I just contacted Honda Canada Services and after they went through my service record, they were kind enough to cover my part ($150) and part of labor as well. I wouldn't mind spending around $50 or so for the whole repair at all, especially after my 3 year/60,000km warranty has expired like 9 months ago. Plus, they are replacing SRS sensor under airbag warranty or something, for free of charge.

allenn: thanks for your advice, mang!!
